So I moved most of the things on my switch 2 to the internal drive, mostly the bigger games and ones I know I will play. So unless I download/get new games, I should be able to just swap the cards when my new one arrives and not care about anything left on it. Though I did read from nintendo themselves, I should be able to just use a computer and copy the files over since I'm not combining multiple cards or changing consoles.

That's convenient. BTW, upon connecting your Switch 2 to a pc, does it show up as an MTP device and ca you access folders not the root ones easily?

no, it's detected as a usb device but no storage is accessible. Windows, just hear the sound and linux, it detects but can't open/mount it and dmesg says

[1522772.139836] usb 2-2: new SuperSpeed USB device number 3 using xhci_hcd
    [1522772.162931] usb 2-2: New USB device found, idVendor=057e, idProduct=2060, bcdDevice= 1.00
    [1522772.162935] usb 2-2: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3
    [1522772.162938] usb 2-2: Product: Nintendo Switch 2
    [1522772.162940] usb 2-2: Manufacturer: Nintendo
    [1522772.162942] usb 2-2: SerialNumber: NOOB404
    [1522772.169581] hid-generic 0003:057E:2060.0008: hiddev99,hidraw6: USB HID v1.11 Device [Nintendo Nintendo Switch 2] on usb-0000:06:00.0-2/input0

How about Linux? Can the partitions be mounted and accessed somehow?

I mentioned it detects the switch 2 but can't open anything, even posted the snippet from the kernel/dmesg in which I changed the serial to your name
No clue on macs yet but I'd guess it's the same thing

LOL I JUST NOW SAW THE SERIAL XD

Yeah, I doubt I would need to care if I didn't change it but it's habit to glance and edit it out. Like, if I didn't put noob404, I'd probably would have done abc123 or something generic

Noob404 was a fun choice though! And what purpose would it serve to blot it out? Its not like any of us here can claim you stole it XD

Noob404 has such a cringe name. It start d with my blog where I was planning to post tech articles for complete beginners. So, noob404 was meant to mean that noob was not found implying you read my blog you won't be a noob anymore.
    Yuck!

yeah, that's what I'm saying, I doubt I would need to care but it's just habit to edit some of the things out like serial numbers.

I mean to each their own.... not sure what can be done with serial numbers tho

AGGGH SARA IS STARING AT PAGE 618

Should we dm her? Nah that would be too much

At this point maybe... its getting a bit annoying, she should at least pay attention when people ping her or pay attention to the #latest page

Can't completely blame her though. Me and Ben only noticed people were pissed off at us after about 2 hours of posting on that day. DMing is an option. But, that might be considered overdoing it especially if I do it since everyone would just think i am selfishly trying to secure my position

  • @Saragoldfarb please stop gravedigging the posts those conversations are dead!
