I looked at a couple of $12/y EU deals this year and thought they were a bit on the pricy side after last year. I think that's good for me because while I have a $5/y and $6/y, the $6 is only used as a secondary DNS, the $5 has only been used for YABS once, but having them both server a more important function of stopping me buying more toys. For APAC I'm a bit more flexible.
Of course, for production it's a different matter.
