Though I do agree on their pricing for the console and games but if you think other systems aren't going to do the same thing you're tricking yourself. I mean, look at their price increases they've done for hardware that's already made/in stores.
Yes, that's true. I don't have many friends who own Switch or for that matter any Nintendo gear. It's prolly cause Switches aren't officially sold in India and thus lack warranty.
Yah, I used to get hit with those like crazy during my first NY thread while I was competing against the great FrankZ. Since then, I have been careful. But, this time around when I got hit, it was during the heat of a giveaway or intense hyping activity, which is why I couldn't actually check the details carefully.
BTW, does the Switch have other official ports except RDR and Crysis?
Oh yes. That's actually quite normal. I read this years ago. Sony was actually losing money on the PS4. Their PlayStation business was so designed to make them money on games and accessories rather than on the console itself. Some attributed the bad controller quality (stick drift, etc.) to this tactic so their accessories sale would icnrease.

RACKNERD HYPE SQUAD, LET'S MAKE SOME NOISE FOR A GIVEAWAY!!
If you are online, this wuld be a great time to hype maybe.
Yeah, I have lots of friends and family with nintendo stuff so it's kind of a must. Do also have friends with PCs/other consoles too. Though I do like Nintedo's stuff, it's different compared to a xbox/ps/pc. PC is ahead of ps/xbox but one could argue they're basically the same where nintedo is kind of in their own lane. While I do like Nintendo, I'm not one of those blind fans, I know Nintendo does Nintendo things...
Yeah, I think I'm going to only do like 3 replies so if I miscount, I'm still safe and wait to see the minute change on the clock.
Nintendo is famous for suing websites and ROM holders. But, theyr aren't completely wrong there since it's their IP they are fighting for. I believe they also were able to shut down a Switch emulator project completely. I have used a Lite before and played RDR on it. Could say right away the game was well-polished and optimsied to run on Switch hardware, the first doesn't have the best sepcs.
I wish Nintendo would spend more on porting PC games.
Yeah, sony/microsoft basically sold their consoles at loses because they would make it up with accessories, games, and even their online subscriptions. Heck, the first xbox was basically a super discounted off the shelf pentium 3 with a nvidia gpu (of course, the bios locked it down but you could flash a different one or install a chip that basically just overrided the onboard one)
Don't worry too much. Unless you are doing like 1-15 word replies, I have found that it balances out very well and doesn't let you do more than 5 in a minute. Or, maybe it's my slower pace, prolly.
Yah, I do remember those modchips and stuff for the Xbox. Believe even PS2 needed a modchip. It was starting with PS3 that even a USB drive could exploit the console if i am not wrong. But, I didn't know the Xbox had a Pentium under the hood. I always thought, MS and Sony just loved AMD for their consoles from the beginning.

Yeah, no comment on the rom sites
They only "won" the emulator thing because they didn't have the money to fight them in court. Them also going after palworld and patenting things to get them is also stuff that falls into the "Nintendo doing Nintendo things" saying. While I'm not a fan of those type of games, after seeing the new pokemon games, I can see why they're going after palworld

But, it would make sense, because AMD was really bad in those years. Bad quality, bad cost to performance ratio and what not. Their luck changed with the new CEO who just skyrocketed AMD, esp. with the launch of Ryzen.

They do, they've actually have been more open to ports and "more mature" games since they released the first switch.
OH yah, I had completely forgotten about the Palwordl fiasco. BTW, when it comes to emulators, what is their legal status? I mean, are emulators themselves illegal since they don't ship games with their software. I dunno how these work, but, I do assume the emulators do use a bit of proprietary Nintendo code to get the games running. Is that where the legal issue is?

Oh, didn't know this. I do love the OLED Switch though, cause I love tinkering a lot. On a Deck or an Ally everything comes prepared since they run both Windows or Linux out of the box. I don't want that. I love to play with the device, not games, but, learn dev stuff. That's where the enjoyment is for me.
yangyang back to grab his throne! Let's go.
