Best backup service for windows os
Which backup service are you using? Price? I run windows 10 on laptop and only after 30 years of use I thought about making backups of my data...

Windows? Insert an external HDD in USB drive. Copy data (Documents, Desktop folders, and so on) from laptop to HDD.
Another option is to use Filezilla and copy data on a storage server you might have idling.
Another option is to make archives using WinRAR and store these instead of the actual files.
If you want encrypted backups, use Cryptomator - it is free and open source.
You do have option of OneDrive service as part of Office 365 subscription.
I am using OneDrive, got Family subscription and all family members have 1TB/person.
I am using Duplicati for local backup, it is free. I use it to run a scheduled backup of some important folders from my PC to HDD. It has easy backup and restore options like restoring whole folder or just subset of folders or files. It also allows to keep last X backups and browse them to choose which one to restore from etc. Its a nice free tool for offline backup to HDD.

Overkill, but i like it:

Am thinking of adding a sync or auto backup to an old SSD drive connected to an offsite Raspberry Pi. Or to get a Black Friday storage offer for that! ;-)
Nice backup strategy. Do you thought about long term data retention by backing up to tapes? Keep pushing paranoia higher, miracles happen.
Only personal stuff, software, movies, photos, documents, etc. partly outdated but I never had the time to clean them and am always afraid to one day need something I deleted (old name, contact, etc.). I lost several external backup HDDs while traveling and/or forgot to backup regularly.
That's why now I sync and auto backup/mirror to several drives, to keep different (almost) always updated versions of my data. And as I regularly upgrade the storage technology: (floppy disks, HDD, SDD, remote server), I assume I don't need to worry about long term retention/tapes/etc.
I also use as much as possible portable applications (email client, browser, etc.), to be able to easily/quickly restore them: if my PC breaks, I can "just walk in a shop, buy a new one, plug USB drive and work".
Of course that would not be applicable if I loose my PC (stolen for example): the USB flash drive with backup files would be lost too and i would need to get one of my other

note it only backs up "whats on your system", ie, you can't use it like a drive how onedrive / google drive can be used to backup additional files which aren't on your system.

OneDrive family plan is value for money if you have big storage. It gives 1TB per person for 6people. 6TB total for around $70/year. Sometimes on sale for lesser. Its integration with samsung galaxy is also native and build in.
The negative side is you are giving data to a big corporation that can analyze and use your data however you want. That is only reason I am not using it.
So, I just backup once in a while to two 12tb identical hard drives, because hard drive failure is very common.
Backup to external disk. Also, you can get Lifetime backup storage like Koofr, Filelu, Amaryllo on Stacksocial.
