    It fits the LOW end part of things around here - no wonder it is/was popular.

    Yea, it's just 1 support ticket in a year wipes out the revenue for 3 orders at that pricing. Remember; Finland is super pricey on human resources, practically over 100€ per hour of effective work time for semi skilled person.

    So So So many of those went. We don't even have much free on the 1G range, but i think i did mark some server not to provision (essentially software stability issues, now fixed, just do a dist upgrade). Also the stability of the 1G SSD range is now so much better with newer kernels etc. They are all Zen1 and Zen2 based on AsRock DeskMini A300 / X300 series, some are lowly Athlon 3000GE but i think some were even 5600G. We are repurposing these to MD series during 2026 btw. Takes a little bit more of physical engineering to fit the 2x 2.5" SSD, but everything else has already been solved, including new coolers to fit 1RU, as the DeskMini gave space for 1.5RU sized cooler.

    I'm semi-skilled. Willing to work remote for half that.

    We were talking about mine, but its an all in one solution comes with hosted billing, and doesn't work with WHMCS, WHMCS does have one though, but use at your own caution :D heard some bad stories.

    I know it's reallllly not the point of your product, but a non service level provider option.
    Like here's "our" app that lets people seamlessly manage their private scale VPN would be pretty cool. Dunno if that's a product already out in the wild though.

    A lite version of what your product is offering I guess.
    It probably exists out there somewhere but from my brief glance it sounds interesting but I have no interest in becoming a VPN provider.

    What I do have though is some very non-technical friends and family who struggle telling the difference between a laptop and a tablet.
    If I could setup your app, login for them and then have confidence I can cleanly manage everything on the backend without having to try and manage profiles for them remotely. Sounds pretty good to me.

    How much of a market is there for something like that? No idea, but seems like you have most of the framework there already for something that could probably achieve that.

    Ah I see, so the same service with apps as we already do, but without adding servers, you could just add profiles to the persons account? That way they can just click connect and away they go.

    I'll see if we can come up with something, we built the service for companies to add VPN services to their offerings/white label so they could build their own networks and so on. White label vpns can get very costly to setup, so we tried to build something that was on par and wouldn't cost the earth, with all four apps included.

    No you pretty much nailed it, basically you running your own product but offering a layer of abstraction there.
    Say me, I want to share my servers with family but its a nightmare managing profiles and ect on their devices. Or hell even for myself, keeping everything in sync across devices.
    Your product seems to handle that problem by (over simplified) acting as a middleman to connect the client to the server. But also providing the backend management.

    A nice cheap non-commercial license, I could totally see myself even just using it for myself to make my life easier across my fleet of devices.

    I've actually always wanted software for exactly this to be able to build a selfhosted VPN network with centralized management but bruh I can't spent 150 a month on it

    I get that, won't work for everyone, but for people who want to resell their own VPN it works well and they can make monies depending on their marketing and so on, but does take all the stress out of building apps/maintaining the platform.

    What software are you guys talking about btw?
    If it makes selling VPN easy, and integrates to WHMCS and maintained. It could be curious for us, as a weekend site hobby to start offering VPN only service as well PLUS offer it as extra for our seedbox/storage box users to have more than their own seedbox account as choices.

    Actual practical use. I contribute my servers to ntppool.org and there are many locations which aren't served locally at all and have to depend of more distant global servers.
