I'm currently looking into Revolut. They seem to offer visa/mastercards debit cards. I might be able to use that to buy online stuff.

Again, do check if they are legal in your country.

If I'm correct, it is legal.> @noob404 said:

@noob404 I contacted customer support via their web chat. They say the change is permanent and that it's not possible to appeal it.
On reddit i see a lot of users with the same issue, example: https://www.reddit.com/r/paypal/comments/1oqag52/we_re_permanently_limiting_your_account/

Man, that is just sad. But, what explanation did they provide for it, if any?

The support agent did not have access to the reason. Afaik, it's like a really shitty automated system that suspends accounts and there is no going back.

Man, I can understand them banning if there was a specific reason they could pinpoint. But, doing it, just cause they feel like it, is cruel, esp. when many freelancers depend on PayPal.

If you check the r/paypal subreddit, it's full of complaints lol

Yah, I have been checking as well. Lotta people had their accounts limited like that :(

    Yep. Looking for alternatives

What payment options are accepted BTW on the website you are trying to pay at?

Trying to get a storagebox at hostbrr

What are the available payment options there?

If nothing else does work for you, then crypto would be the best option, ig. Or, just pay someone trusted in NL with an active credit to pay on your behalf if that's an option.

Sure, buddy. Been a busy day for me as well.

Afaik, hostbrr doesn't allow that. But I could always ask in a ticket :)

While crypto would be an alternative, not all hostings accept it. I mainly want a solution where I can pay like almost everywhere

Oh I see, then, I guess your best bet would be to get a legally valid virtual credit card. Have you already contacted your bank regarding this? Maybe they do have a provision to give you pre-paid virtual credit cards, if physical credit cards aren't an option.

How about Cyber week then? Party all week?
BTW, is that a think? I have been seeing Cyber week sales on the web on many e-tailers. I believe it's just a week invented by e-tailers to sell.

Payoneer gives you visa (or maybe mastercard) debit card, but getting money into Payoneer is easier by getting paid online for services rather than deposit

Wise is another option, they give a card as well, it's same as Revolut. both these started as alternatives to bank WIRE transfers.. but evolved into whole money platforms

but IMHO all of these above charge per transaction, which makes a 3EUR payment become 5EUR etc.. fee is usually same for any amount.

And, please be careful. I am sure you already know this, but, just to be safe, I am gonna put it in words. DO not get those sketchy virtual credit cards from shady websites.

I didn't know Payoneer has cards as well. Is this internationally applicable though?

black week maybe, cyber week is only a thing at places that do purely online stuff, like lets say place i frequent CHEWY - only sells pet food online, no stores, - so they been calling recent week - a cyber week. not the week after the monday tho.

  • BTW, Linux users, post the idling RAM usage on your home PC. Mine is around 2GB. When I freshly installed Lubuntu and optimised it a bit, it would hang around 1.5GB. But, since then, I have added startup processes including Docker containers which might be taking it up a bit. Let's see who's got the lowest.

Ah ok, that makes sense. But, anyways, we don't need a holiday to hype on this thread! It's already a party!
We could make giveaway requests for random reasons, the closest one I feel would be page 600!!!

BTW all 3 of those give you localized bank accounts, per continent or per country, so technically you can wire money from your bank account into those, and funds become available across platform, can move between those bank accounts or put into card. it's actually quite useful if you getting paid online and wanna receive money in special currency without the step where you convert from 1 to another.

Hey, just wondering if you missed a dot there between 2 and 5, or is it 25GB RAM at idling??!?!
