Choose wisely
Not even a competition.
There is no right or wrong software, just make it from scratch
But Im only interested on adding torrent to my chatbot, still dunno how to get the torrent done
So you want a fully white label vpn solution with 4 apps for Β£24 a year? Sounds like a steal
It is black friday after all
You were not betrayed by any fumo fumo, they were dedicated servers in disguise.
Unfortunately that ended yesterday
we don't have time to do everything possible, barely have time to develop our core stuff.
As for integrating torrents, rutorrent offers an well documented and used API, ie. Transdroid uses that etc. It's quite trivial. Also now with LLM coding it's trivial probably to use rtorrent xmlrpc directly since you actually have the data (LLM can make the fucking API Documentation from code if need to!)
Choose wisely
If youβre willing to give a 99% discount, every day will be black friday
Choose wisely
Claude will one shot that! just waiting 5 minutes and its done, yes but get the tool is the problem, using 1 day developing things to save 2 clicks is also kinda worth it
I feel like someone on that list will flood my DMs with MJJs as revenge for getting so many notifications because of that one post.
Yes, and no one is forcing me not to comment!
certainly, will one shot -- something. But it's testing which is the true bottleneck now. Making sure things are working etc.
but even more importnat than that; Guard rails, doctrine etc. so it's maintainable and to your code quality standards, secure and stuff like that.
It's not so fast as one could think, it's more of meta coding now.
See:
https://github.com/MagnaCapax/PMSS/blob/main/AGENTS.md
https://github.com/MagnaCapax/mcxForge/blob/main/AGENTS.md
https://github.com/MagnaCapax/mcxTemplate/blob/main/AGENTS.md
The guard rails and standards are expanded in the docs/ as well.
Then Codex and Gemini adhere to these differently, other needs more guard rails than the other. Gemini happily tries to execute the scripts locally, goes browse the internet for answers and stuff like that, sometimes it goes completely off the context and starts doing all kinds of things. Codex doesn't go crazy like that as easily, but hallucinates more features etc. and has really really hard time simplifying sometimes, easily duplicates features etc.
Unless you do all of that work, it is the feared AI Slop, the worst of vibe coding.
It's now META CODING, so you build the upper layer, and AI handles the next layer. No more need to know all the nuances, your typing speed is not the bottleneck, no more lazyness etc.
And when you do all of that PLUS testing, (coding has been like 50% testing always, and 7x more reading than writing!) you get way way higher code quality level than a human can achieve on the grass root level of code (not hierarchy and architecture, that is 100% human territory!) simply because you are not constrained by typing speed.
Human has to be carefully choose all the robustness and checks features to implement, because he has capped output speed.
When i used to do coding as living, i remember streaks where i would spend hours half day dreaming basicly waiting for my fingers to catch up with the code i designed. Fingers would go on at full speed, but mind was partially idling.
I also used to write code on paper (and then clean write when on computer), or fully design components (say registries, DB abstractions/classes and stuff like that) in my mind back then, always constrained by typing speed so the resulting code was always designed for maximal robustness in the fewest possible characters while maintaining readability.
AI cannot achieve that at all, but it can achieve all the extra checks AND automating testing/linting in the time it takes you to imagine the component.
that sounds like a skill issue on their side
