Still waiting for paypal to review my info

hehe.. paypal reviewed my info back in 2009. haven't had a proper working paypal in my name since

They once closed my business account. Was a mess to get it reinstated again.

I've heard of many people/businesses having many issues with PayPal. Luckily, I haven't had any (yet). I actually only have it for the random orders/payments I do as I much rather use PayPal instead of my actual card details.

Since credit cards aren't really used in the Netherlands, PayPal is like my only option to buy stuff online

I do remember you mentioning this last year as well or something along the lines. Now, I am curious why no credit card popularity in NL?

Exactly. I am just curious if NL government has taken active steps with that intention. If yes, kudos!

in some countries govt cares for peoples monetary problems. in USA they just want you to be in debt as far as you can get in there.. you can get "credit card" from big retailers that can only be used in their stores. my wife with her shopping has several cards all maxed out. she was able to get some cause of my perfect credit history.. but she's very bad with money, very very very very very very very very very very very very very very bad..

Lol, not really of course but, lol.

that's why it's hard to be poor. poor people end up getting slapped with interest, fees, all kinds of tickets for stupid things, when you cannot afford to renew car registration on time or pay monthly insurance, and it all snowballs and it becomes harder and harder to get out of debt..

True. That's why I rather save up for things in advance. Everything besides the house is fully owned.

also some countries are not developed well enough for credit stuff. it starts with stuff like mortgage and car buying credit, cause if you don't pay they can at least take it back.. with credit cards per-say you maybe using them for food, and eating it, so they can never get back that stuff, so they don't even let you start..

Let me tell you a bit about India here. There are loan apps here that gets access to your photos and contacts on phone and dif you don't pay, they hire recollection agencies that morph and abuse your photos you never consented for use, to blackmail yout into paying.
But, recently, Govt took steps to curb these apps and severely punish them.

Man, that's fucked up. Glad the gov is taking action!

same used to be here, if your debt is bought by collection agency (when actual creditor is tired of trying to get money from you, they sell deft for like 40c on the dollar), you are in trouble, they will call, send emails, snail mail, anything...

but if you strong enough to avoid that shit, in 7 years it is all cleaned out of your credit history and collection stops going after you as well. 7 years of hell.. i went thru it too, although i only owed $400 to TMobile that i refused to pay out of principle.. eventually i was able to start my credit anew, and now i (try) don't get in stupid situations..

That can't be done here fortunately, not with private debt anyway.

My biggest concern with debt is, it's relatively cheap here to loan money. Low interest rates . So was making some upgrades to the house, contractor like, you can take out a (longer term) loan. Just sets you back 100/m. Now that's not much... But then you're 30K in debt.

    I'll pass.

You can pick any topic and I am pretty sure we all have opinions about it. Go!

Best new netflix series to watch... Not including stranger things :)

Netflix. Well, there are many. Recently they got into producing Indian oriented content and if you are into going international, you could check out the latest Indian movies on Netflix. Some of them are good

Never really like the Indian stuff. Probably a cultural thing. A friend of mine is crazy mad about it though.

Totally. Every person has their taste. Btw, what kinda stuff do you usually love?

All the big major series I guess. And the classics like braking bad. Love to watch some comedy as well.

i could never finish Breaking Bad, like middle 2nd season or something.. it's too intense.. like extremely so, very very anxious.. but i loved it for sure.

It is. It's just all insanely twisted with a lot of plot twist and random things messing everything up. Chaos..I dunno how to explain but I love it.

No ideas. The chef is a man of mystery but he hasn't been known to appear on two days though. But, we could definitely hype for giveaways, no idea about flash sales though

Yeah... Gonna miss it either way. Probably..unless real lucky. Misse it last time by minutes.

That's unfortunate. Maybe next year, I could DM you when the chef is here. Or, usually @sh97 does get insider info on the chef's arrival usually a day prior. Maybe you could set your alarms of you have the time that day.

That sneaky Mjj :) @sh97 hook me up next time !

Was a quick meal cause page 600 was ok my mind.

haha time of quick meals is way in the past for me.. well, except when i do protein shake.. that one takes 3 min total..

I really do love taking my time with some food items as well. Others, I am like a funny anime character finishing meals within seconds

Had some stuffed chicken, potatoes and a salad tonight. Bit if work but worth it.

like a whole chicken stuffed with stuffing? or a chicken Kiev? damn i'm freaking hungry.. 30 more minutes before eating.. 15 to start feeding.. =) i will have some pistachios, 6 fried eggs with a bit of melted cheese on top (my take on pizza), pint of blueberries, and maybe a bit of guacamole. these last few days can get it 80% off due to too many avocado in the store going bad. they sell guac that takes 3-4 avocados for 50% less than those avocados (also on sale).. LOVE IT. with corn chips.. oof.. i am sooo hungry..

Yeah, made a whole chicken but that's way too.much for us so brought some over to the neighbours.

Yes, I think the keyboard was much better a few years ago.

Could be brand depending as well.i noticed slight differences.

Maybe you are right. Just realised I have been using Pixel for the last 5 years or so.

I had the first pixel but they got too expensive for me. I mean, I could afford it but phones don't survive long enough the way I handle them to spend much money on them :)

Oh I see. But I believe you got insurance on phones there? New phone for free if yours messes up, right?

my wife had no insurance. she broke her phone screen to only see flashes of color, nothing else, it's Galaxy s23 ultra, most expensive from lineup. spent $300 to fix screen.. OMG...

No insurance either. But you know, my current phone was like maybe €150 so not really worth to insure.

Doesn't it affect her cr dit history or something if the cards are mixed out?

yeah it does. i use cards to pay for stuff always. but then i pay back in the next few days. it's mostly for points. and no need to carry cash. sometimes if i am not vigilant enough to pay my spent money on time, it goes into credit history, so now my credit score went from 815 down to 812 cause i have 3% of my credit "used up". hers is way below thanks to near 100% usage.. she only pays minimum payment every month. meaning she barely covers interest and doesn't even decrease her 100% usage.. it's a stupid circle.. if you manage to amass too much usage on credit - you end up just paying interest on that spending every month.. and can never recover for years...

Yah, I have heard paying the minimum due is the easiest way to build a great debt for yourself. And in most cases, credit cards are built to keep you in the dark about the debt building while you are kept in the dark.
As for repayment, I also have been following the same tactic as you. Use them for points. Pay as soona s the card is used.

yep. and then points i am saving till i travel, cause they are worth 50% more than if i would just exchange for money.. i now have about 180k points with CHASE (one of major banks here).. worth $1800 as cash. been saving for years since exchanging them for cash became not a life-needed move.. so when i go travel finally they'll be worth $2400 or even more, sometimes up to 75% more.. my money goes LONG WAY...

Hey are airplanes ticket cheap there? Like how much would it cost for you to fly from east to west coast? For reference a similar distance flight in India would cost around $100-150

probably same.. if you buy on a special sale half a year ahead, can get $50 a domestic flight or something.. budget airlines even cheaper sometimes.

Oh I see. But these credit cards are probably making air travel cheaper for you guys with air miles and such. These are not popular in India. Air miles and such, if any are only available on premium cards given out to the rich and HNWs

yeah but then you gotta have airline card or your bank that issued it for an airline.. those are only flying points, cannot be used on other stuff, they have their own thing.. can get cards for anything. stores, hotels, even restaurants. i have a card that i use for overseas purchases it doesn't charge for currency exchange and for overseas in general, like others do, and it also gives triple points in restaurants.. all kinds of cards..

I see. I too have one of those credit cards with 0 forex charges that I use for hosting purchases and any international spends.

it is also useful to bring for international travel, can pay your way thru Europe without extra fees. it just lists my purchases in GPB, EU, $$ etc.

I have never been out of India :(

Yeah well but India is huge! Like, NL is probably the size of your city

Rough.... I mean, fortunately we don't get those kind of temperatures here too often.

Yeah, I just wish she kept her boots on so it wouldn't be as bad. She will allow a coat and even the boots for a bit but then she refuses to move until they're off. Even if that means she's in the middle of a snow/ice. I kind of gave up on putting on the boots unless it's truly dangergous temps outside.

Thats a good strategy, you'd be at 570~ if you did that from the start.. much easier to manage that level of energy

I might have actually started on Monday. I just realised it was possible to win some swag with only a few hundred posts!

Purchased your new high-performance Ryzen shared hosting to host some auxiliary sites.

    RACKNERD

After setting up several servers on their VPS offerings, I would recommend Rack Nerd to anyone who may be considering their services. The value is exceptional and the performance is excellent.

    A+ ALL THE WAY.
The performance of my three VPS linux servers has been great. Also, I've not been paid or asked to provide feedback nor am I affiliated, just a paying customer providing unsolicited feedback because it's difficult to know who to host with with so many options.

Wish I would have switched to RackNerd years ago!!
    Thanks
