Where did all the money go?

In the BF 2025, I was looking forward to a €12/yr plan so I decided to buy it. My payment failed (their server crashed) but I still got charged for that. Opening tickets in their client panel, they said they did not recieve the money. Then I asked my credit card provider, they said the payment was successful and there's no chance I could request a refund. So, where did all the money go? Its been 3 days and my money should be returned back to my credit card if it was on hold, but still nothing. Just sharing, if there are so many people wanted to know the provider I will reveal, its not either their fault or my cc provider fault, I think so..

You cannot dispute a transaction that is still pending.
Once it’s settled / posted, you can reach out to the merchant and request a refund.
If they don’t refund within 7 days, you can start a dispute with the card issuer.

  • The problem is the credit card processor, the payment gateway, so contact them

  • It's in hold by your bank. Usually, if the service provider (gateway) will not accept this transaction within 7-14 days (depending on your bank) the payment will be released. You cannot speed up this process.

its so confusing that my bank/cc provider said the payment was successful and they have no permission to refund, therefore I need to contact the vps provider..

  • I usually get my money refunded by the bank in those type of situations.

If the payment was deducted it's successful for the bank, but that payment is on hold (in reserve) state and waiting for the payment provider (gateway) to be either accepted or denied which as i told can take 7-14 days. This is a standard procedure. In your case it should be released (denied) as the service provider have not received any money.

Yeah, it happens. I think you are missing that there is a third party (payment provider) involved.

Your cc sends the money to the payment provider. Your cc sees the transaction as completed.
The payment provider now has the money, but they are not the same company that your ordered hosting from. They see it as pending.
Your hosting provider never received the money since something crashed and they never deployed whatever service you ordered, so the payment provider tries to pay for a service that does not exist in their system. The hosting provider never got your money.

Your cc see it as completed, the hosting provider see it as non-existent, and the payment provider see it as pending. None of them are wrong. The payment provider will return the money to the cc within a week or two normally.
