I didn't expect much for $12, but these days the performance rather bad. I mainly used the VPS for Wireguard to access my home network, but at the moment it is unusable for me.

Has this been solved for you?

I think it has improved, but my VPS still seems to be unavailable for short periods few times a day (100% packet loss), monitored with uptime kuma. But on the other hand, we're talking about a $12 VPS here, so you shouldn't expect too much.

While I agree that one should have realistic expectations, the packet loss (downtime/unreachability) is nevertheless much too frequent, I'm afraid

I commented on this in the other thread:

The last 24 hours of my VPS (EPYC $1 Server):

The last 24 hours of my VPS (Virtual-1 Ryzen 9):

I also think that there are too many packet losses, but at least the Ryzen 9 VPS is actually fairly stable.

    Hello,

Just to confirm, is this a network outage, or did the server stop and then start again?

Please let us know so we can investigate accordingly.

    Thank you.

The server is running, uptime is unchanged. The problem is likely to be a network issue.

I am seeing frequent CPU soft lockups, with processes stuck for dozens of seconds. That is causing serious networking issues for me (a process that is stuck doesn't handle network traffic well...). Very annoying. And the ticket I opened seems stuck for over a week now, too.

    @Servitro

My VPS monitor shows multiple very short intervals of unreachability on a daily basis without exception. Typically, the intervals are 1 min, but sometimes 2 min or 3 min

My VPS is otherwise up during these intervals

For example, my VPS has been up for the past 5 days (uptime since my last reboot), but multiple times everyday without exception, it's unreachable for very short intervals

It seems to me that other users here confirm this pattern, so it's not specific to my VPS

    Just as a follow-up:

On Friday, I received an email from @Servitro , offering to migrate my VPS to a new node. Naturally, I accepted, and they migrated my VPS to the new node very quickly. It's now been 48+ hours since the migration, and my VPS has been continuously reachable ever since. :) (My monitor hasn't registered any unreachability since the migration, which suggests that the new node doesn't suffer from the network-connectivity issues that the old node suffered from)

This is good news that I wanted to share :)

  • Same results following the migration for me, uptime is currently showing 2days 10hrs. Hope this ongoing issue has been resolved.

Has anyone noticed a roller coaster of ups and downs today? After the calm of the past days (since Friday), earlier today, suddenly, the situation changed. I wonder whether the honeymoon is over ...

Same here, both the “EPYC $1 Server” and the “Virtual-1 Ryzen 9” are currently unusable for me. To be honest, I'm at the end of my patience; it seems that they are not capable (or unwilling) of providing a stable service.

I'm keeping an eye on the netcup Advent calendar, and if there's anything interesting for me, I'll likely move to netcup.

  • Absolutely the same here, up down/up down/ up down. Since today! After the migration things were silent for a short while. Now its a disaster. Seems like some router ARP issue after analysis/.

And I was afraid of this happening (or at least service discontinuations) after black friday... Reason is known..

Update: I received a mail from them this evening:

    Hello Users,

We are currently experiencing a packet loss issue on the newer AMD EPYC node that we added last week. We are working with the datacenter to resolve this as soon as possible.

We suspect this issue is related to a new network configuration we applied on this server. It worked fine when only a few hundred servers were running, but issues started appearing as the load increased.

We will update you as soon as we have more information. Thank you for your patience.

  • Same, hopefully they issue credits for beta testing their platform.

After the veritable roller coaster ride most of the day yesterday, today (since the middle of the night UTC) is calm. Let's keep our fingers crossed ...
