Why would I want to buy a URL shortener?

I don't know how xtom URL shortener works but a great advantage is,

Give away the short URL to a mass of people to access something (let's say a tut may be).

Now for whatever reason, the main URL changes. Then I'll have to inform all those people again and there will be people who would be accessing the old URL which will come as 404.

If I have URL shortener, I can just change the URL in background and all those people wouldn't even notice that the whole address changed.

I have used this a lot and saves a lot of time and headache especially when your target audience are not good with technology (in remote villages).

You can do this if you already have any website

    Roadmap Highlights

To extend S.EE beyond traditional URL shortening, we are developing three new components:

    • Link in Bio

    [...]

My brother created this open source link in bio system with an ecosystem of themes if you're interested in a base to use/fork.

Yes. But over the years, you tend to delegate it to others instead of programming yourself or self host because of convenience.

No, unused or removed slugs cannot be taken over by someone else.

If a short link is deleted or banned on S.EE, the corresponding slug will be permanently reserved.

The only exception is when a verified copyright owner provides proof and formally requests to reclaim the slug.

This prevents a situation where another user reuses the same slug to point to a different destination and causes confusion or impersonation.

And then, when your link shortener goes out of business but your website does not, and all your links break, you find out.

    For LETers:
This is one of the least-idler item I bought this BCFM!!

I made a Shortcut for iOS Shortcuts:
    https://s.ee/shortcut

    What it currently does:
    1. If link contains lowendtalk, it will use the lowend.talk domain
    2. For others, it uses the default s.ee domain

    How to use:
    1. Go to https://s.ee/shortcut > Get Shortcut
    2. Add Shortcut > Put in your API Token
    3. When browsing a page, press share, and choose s.ee LET (whatever name you gave it, I added it to favorites so it shows up at the top of the share menu on iOS)

    Extras:
You can set a keyboard shortcut to use on Mac in the Shortcuts App. It's in the Info icon > Details section.
Now just highlight the URL and use the keyboard shortcut. I'm using Cmd+ Alt + Shift + U.

Feel free to tweak the shortcut to your own use case <3

  • Is it based on Gempixel Premium Url Shortener?

  • I thought this would be fun to play with. I gave up when it wouldn't even complete the first step: Verifying mail and signing in. Weird error messages seemed to be unrelated to simply trying to access an account for the first time. Am I the only one?

You can check all of our official domains here

(We update the list regularly, so this page is always the most accurate reference.)

@Fritz said: Is it based on Gempixel Premium Url Shortener?

No, it's fully developed by the xTom team from scratch.

@Turbo_Pascal said: Am I the only one?

    It should be fixed now.

If you still see the issue, feel free to contact [email protected] and we’ll check immediately.
