Can I turn storage deal into S3 object storage?
i in 2nd year with idrive e2, $50 for 1TB
bill renews 3rd year in Jan 2026
i am thinking to grab a 1-2TB storage deal
but can i transfrom it into S3 kind of object storage?
(buckets, api endpoints, version control with rollback, cumulative backups etc.)
any opensource software or tools to turn a normal disk into S3 object storage?
chatgpt says MinIO, SeaweedFS or Ceph

anyone had experience setting up s3 like mino or seeweedfs?
is it worth the $savings to DIY, or just save the time/effort and get a managed backup service and spend time to deploy apps that you use instead.
the main reason I'd use S3 is because any proper S3-like has like 99.99999% durability, so no because lowend providers don't give you that
if all you care about is a compatible API, probably, as long as it's a storage VPS deal and not just "here's some FTP space"
