How does that work? The codes are 15 characters (or 17 if including the dash), so ascii to hex conversions would result in 30 or 34 hex strings. If you XOR two hex strings, you get an output of the same length as the inputs.
Your hex answer has a length of 65, excluding any extra 0 padding at the start.
