I am from India and looking at your case, I would have gone for Indian Datacentre based hosting only and that too with providers who have telephonic support. I don't know which provider you are using right now but I can suggest to check OVH-India, @leapswitch , @kuroit and e2e networks.

I am using DigitalOcean Bangalore (India) droplet since last 8 years. Never had any issue. Never needed to contact support. but it's costlier

Ping is almost 10ms -+ to singapore and bangalore.

I checked OVH VPS quite cheap for what they offer but unfortunately out of stock for singapore region.

from their website it looks like OVH India only offer dedicated server and it's around 80-90 USD per month

    check this https://www.cloudpe.com/pricing/#linux-general-purpose [8Core/32 GB/100 GB for 4400/- INR]

In my opinion, Hosthatch is better for production
They are clear on fair usage usage policy and the average cpu dedicated to you.

Greencloud FUP is really scary... It's a great and reliable provider though.

I have used GreenCloudVPS so I can say its good, their ticket response is also fast in majority of the time but if you want something specific for India there are providers like @HostDZire who provide good value Indian VPS'es

EDIT: There is @SmokyHosts too -- they also provide Indian VPS'es

HostDZire i will check. Btw i know @HostDZire , @Hosthatch since they were a startup (appx 15 years ago). Happy to seen them grown up.

To this list I want to add @HostDZire for India VPS.
You can also check @SmokyHosts India VPS offer in the offer section.

I just want to ask. Hostdzire has a staff named Ravi. By any chance you are affiliated to them?

I just wish @HostDZire hire me. I also do not have any affiliate account with them.
I am using their India VPS and have been really happy with the uptime and overall performance. I also have a India VPS from DigiRDP but faced few small downtimes.

  • Personally, I host my "this needs to stay up" sites on hosthatch. Greencloud has gotten my personal blog and similar less critical sites.

Greencloud has been better for me as a customer (won a free vps once, prices are better than hosthatch) but I trust hosthatch on the technical level a bit more (rolled their own panel, had ipv6 support earlier, using cloud-init in the images, supported ISO uploads).

FWIW Greencloud has caught up with their new panel so most of my complaints don't matter anymore, but I still believe that hosthatch will likely have better tuned nodes.

Also, you're comparing the greencloud promo price with the hosthatch normal price, paying the normal hosthatch price means you should get good support.

Given you're presumably making money with the sure I would personally go with hosthatch. If you can afford it, having greencloud as a failover/backup location is not a bad idea, you end up with extra stuff to admin.

Wow loved the way you explained clearly with your use case.

This is exactly what i am thinking to do.

    Hosthatch = production server
Greencloud = backup / development server

Thanks. Any more suggestions is appreciated.

  • I use greencloud for production.

    Always do regular backups.

Pro tip: For e-commerce I would do a 3 simultaneous live data streams for redundancy. The client sees only a delay or hits submit twice worst case like normal glitch no one can explain.

  • I have very positive experience with GreenCloudVPS. I have 3 VPS from them in 3 different locations; they all have been running for years without any unexpected downtime.

In past, I used Hetzner. They were also good; no downtime.

I’m planning to move my Magento 2 e-commerce store (India traffic, ~5000 daily visitors, ~300 concurrent users during sale) to Singapore.

    Two options I’m considering:

    1. GreenCloud BF2025 SG2 (DC2)
      8 vCPU EPYC Milan (fair-share)
      32 GB RAM
      250 GB NVMe 4.0 RAID10
      10Gbps port
      5TB BW
      $120/year
CPU usage rules look strict (30% average etc)
Support seems friendly from what I read

    2. HostHatch NVMe 32GB (Singapore)
      8 vCPU EPYC Milan (3 dedicated + 5 fair-share)
      32 GB RAM
      125 GB NVMe
      8TB BW
      $29/month
      Performance looks stronger
But I’ve read many mixed opinions about support, suspensions, node stability, etc.

    3. Hetzner CPX42 (Singapore)
      8 vCPU AMD
      16 GB
      320 GB
      20 TB
      $ 48.59/month

    What I need:
    Very stable uptime
    No random suspensions
No data loss or server loss
    Smooth Magento 2 frontend
    Good performance during peak traffic
    Safe for business-critical e-commerce
    Singapore latency for India

    My concerns:

Heard some scary stories about HostHatch support disappearing or suspending VPS without clarity

GreenCloud is cheaper and seems stable, but I’m unsure about long-term reliability for a busy Magento store

    Question:
For a production e-commerce Magento 2 site, which one would YOU trust more long-term: GreenCloud or HostHatch?

Real-world experience, good/bad stories, and benchmarks are appreciated.

both are good providers, but i would choose Greencloud

you chose a decently sized VPS so should not be too worried about CPU FUP. if it does overload i believe communicating properly with GC should able to resolve or upgrade the plan.

i have been YABSing GC vps for years and they have very consistent CPU and IO power.

    (did not YABS Hosthatch tho)

    Thanked by 1MAGENTO
  • Please rule out HH first and choose between Greencloud and Hetzner. Hetzner is extremely, extremely stable, while Greencloud offers super fast ticket responses—whenever you have any request or issue, you can definitely reach Greencloud right away.

Do they oversell it too much? Just worry about the performance/stability.

Rule out HH? May i know why you think that?

I am actually a little worried as ecommerce sometimes get traffic spike in Sale / Promotional events.. don't want to get suspended and get surprised while loosing ecommerce orders.

GreenCloud communication is solid proactive that's why i am thinking to go with them. And the love it gets from LET community.

Any suggestions will be highly appreciated!

Below is the summary of YABS that i got from Greencloud support

✅ GreenCloud Singapore DC1 – Official YABS (from support)

(xTom DC – SG North West)

    CPU

    Single-core: 1524

    Multi-core: 8270

CPU model: AMD EPYC Milan @ 2.44 GHz

VM-x / AMD-V: Disabled (affects nested virtualization only)

    Disk

    4K R/W: 403 MB/s (100k IOPS)

    64K R/W: 4.35 GB/s

    512K R/W: 7.29 GB/s

    1M R/W: 8.03 GB/s

    Network

    SG LeaseWeb: 8.20 / 8.23 Gbps

    London: 926 / 1130 Mbps

    LA: 926 / 1050 Mbps

    Amsterdam: 884 / 890 Mbps

✅ GreenCloud Singapore DC2 – Official YABS (from support)

    (Leaseweb Singapore DC)

    CPU

    Single-core: 1676

    Multi-core: 8531

CPU model: AMD EPYC Milan @ 2.29 GHz

    VM-x: Disabled (same)

    ➡️ DC2 CPU is ~10% faster single-core than DC1

    Disk

    4K R/W: 426 MB/s (106k IOPS)

    64K R/W: 3.99 GB/s

    512K R/W: 7.02 GB/s

    1M R/W: 11.00 GB/s

    ➡️ DC2 has faster 1M block performance
    ➡️ DC1 has slightly faster 64K numbers

    Network

    SG Leaseweb: 9.38 / 9.34 Gbps

    London: 206 / 1020 Mbps

    LA: Busy / 969 Mbps

    Amsterdam: 1120 / 1110 Mbps

➡️ DC2 SG routing is excellent (near 10Gbps)

  • If I were in your shoes I would have gone with dual or maybe triple redundancy system with a load balancer with vulte or do. You shouldn't use a single let host for production instead use multiple, offload DB and get done with it.

  • I use both GreenCloud and HostHatch for production. You really cannot go wrong with either of these. They both have truly excellent performance, consistency, and reliability. I personally wouldn't worry about the 30% AUP with GC as well, unless you really do use above that on average. From my experience you can use all the power from time to time completely without issue (if you expect to need it during sales). Have you described your expected usage during sales and asked GC support if they're ok with it? I think they can help.

    Thanked by 1MAGENTO
  • If I were you, I'd definitely steer clear of GreenCloud.

Their strict CPU abuse limits are terrible. Your VPS can easily get throttled or shut down unexpectedly.

This is just a toy-level service—absolutely not suitable for production use.

To my knowledge, as long as you haven't purchased HostHatch's promotional series, you should receive standard after-sales support.

Nevertheless, if you wish to enjoy uninterrupted service, it's still best to choose a major provider like Hetzner whenever possible.

Additionally, for the Singapore location, I imagine you'd want to check out speedypage, as they offer significant performance advantages in this region.
