Although the company has long been a sinking ship and opening a support ticket can result in an account ban or random cancellation, I still have an active $2/yr deal that, somehow, just works fine.

Me too. Virmach is just awesome because it still works, even with ups and downs.
They tried to cut down costs on support over the years, which is why opening tickets is still a problem.
Prometeus since 2012, and still with them till now.
