12 months, right? So about until next BF

  • I see on yabs 128GB ram, while you say 64GB...

  • I had an Agile S1 back in the days (got it with 50% off). It was a nice machine at the time, while Kimsufi still had the prehistoric Xeons, the 1220v5 felt new.

That's because you don't need another dedi in France
(the coupon code is not so obvious on the website)

  • Really a gforce inside?

I really don't need it. Just curiosity :)
It's a sign i should not buy it

Agile S3 is really tempting though

  • One thing I remember with Ikoula is that I had to ask them to enable VT-d in the BIOS so I could do passthrough with the GPU, it was off by default. They did it quickly but for a while I couldn't understand why it wasn't working.

No IPMI ? Never tried Ikoula

I think there was some kind of KVM but no access to the BIOS, but I'm not even sure now. It was on the Agile S1.

  • Agile S3 looks good choice with 12 months commitment.

Read somewhere that 1Gbits port is also lottery. Some get 100 Mbps and when ask support, they said Agile line has 100 Mbps shared bandwidth.

Never tried but in the conditions they say individuals have a right to cancel within 14 days as per the law, and it says there is a form you can access from your interface.

Within 14 days they have to refund you since it's not a custom made built. French/European laws. Tell me after gambling what you got (128gb ram, 1gbit,...)

  • Seem like they block all high risk country IP like 3rd country, cant grab one.

That's a good promotion only if you need it for a year. I've been with them for 5 years with very positive experience for my needs (especially if you are french speaking since most stuff on ikoula is still only french). But i'd like to point some things out :

This is the first time they have done such huge promotions. Last year they didn't do Black Friday and even if they do (or outside bf), it was small non recurring saving like 20% with limited coupons available, so highly unlikely they will have a promotion with this amount of savings next black friday.

Highly unlikely you will see lottery, they have way fewer servers than ovh and never had one with twenty servers in the last 5 years. And on their terms, purchasing and refunding multiple times can be seen as abusing and lead to account suspension.
Even ovh took action to fight that, so if Ikoula also does, it will be way worse since they have way fewer resources than ovh.

When I called some time ago, they said that agile servers come with 100 Mbps guaranteed and can be burst to 1gbps depending on server. So ikoula does not guarantee full 1 gbps. Also there is not really an anti ddos protection
