DuckDuckGo can decrypt Password Hashes for you instantly

  • AFAIK it's not decrypting since MD5 is a one-way encryption but using rainbow-tables.

This. No such thing as "decrypting hashes". I don't think it's even a rainbow table, just a simple lookup table based on leaked databases (as the name appears to imply). It's also not DDG functionality, it's just one of the many search shortcuts they have (look at the source at the bottom).

EDIT: Also, TheHackerNews is an incredibly bad site. Poor writing, even worse research, mostly just copypasting without factchecking. Take anything they say with a grain pound of salt.
