@dustinc Thanks for your review on the Snapdragon laptops and specifically your comment on niche apps. Infact, I was worried about just that and thanks for clarifying that.
It's just that some SD laptops are selling for way cheaper prices in India rn when compared to the Intel and AMD NPUs. I guess they don't have many takers since most people who want NPU powered laptops need compatibility with niche apps.
Anyways, they do have the benefit of being lightweight though which makes them good enough for general use.

FYI: I have yet to find an app that doesn't work with the JIT x86/x64 emulation unless it requires hardware that requires a driver. Drivers won't work with the emulation and that's where you really need to lookup compatibility. At least that's been my experience with the Windows Dev Kit 2023 (Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3).

I haven't tried gaming on it though as it's not really made for that...

Well, that's a relief. I need to confess here that my apprehension comes from following nees from a few years back with Windows on Snapdragon 855. Back then, x86 compatibility was a huge issue for Snapdragon. I thought that it might not have been fixed to a usable level by now.

But, yah, maybe, it's much better now.

Have you tried running any AI training on it?

I hit that twice in a span of 30 minutes or so a few days ago. BTW, how long was the timeout? 60 or 120 seconds?

I have not. Some of the emulation performance does suck sometimes but I'm guessing it's just the soc I have...
Though a lot of things now do prove an arm64 version

Oh I see. Can you name some niche apps that you have already tried and found working reliably well?
