BTW, what is the preferred AI chat agent for you guys? Gemini, Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity, etc.?

Kimi and Gemini and (optionally) DeepCogito.

Haven't heard of the other two. But, recently been hooked onto ChatGPT esp. with the new 5.1 model. But, I have found Grok being the best coding assistant among those that I have tried.

    GPT models are the worst!

Good morning folks! About to step away for a bit (haven't taken the doggo out yet) but I've updated the gleam link in my signature and dont forget about the daily bonus!

P.S. I see there was a giveaway after I stepped away! Yay! Congratulations to the winners!

I thought you did participate in the giveaway. Even I missed it. I was active till page 301, and I believe the giveaway was the last comment on page 302 or 303.

Nope, it stepped away around 23:30 and I think it was around 00:15. Though it's cool, I'm not mad or anything. Just happy there was a giveaway!

But, I was mad at myself. I had just stepped away for half an hour, had to go out and then this happened. I just wanted to participate, cause, you know, I love the adrenaline rush. Anyways, I am guessing given we can keep the hype up, the frequency of these GAs is gonna go up soon.

If it was daytime for me, I could see being disappointed but I'm fine with others getting GAs!

I mean, I use them for general cases, not for anything serious. I also tried Perplexity, and, it's research mode is really good for serious stuff.

Totally, I am glad anyone getting GAs. That's why I wanted to hype it up for you guys before I left. It'd be good to see a giveaway in a time period suitable for you guys as well. I am ready to hype it up right now so that there could be a giveaway around these times. But, I will have to leave soon.

For everything? Or do you have preferences depending on the purpose?

I have been using the latest 5.1 and it's good for general purposes. But, for coding and such it needs detailed prompting yet fumbles a lot.

They are so slow and I don't really see a difference compared to older AI models

I do like reasoning models over the non-reasoning ones.

Just cause they are ChatGPT's models?

  • And it uses more tokens, meaning it's also worse for the environment

Oh personally, I did some though very subtle changes when using reasoning with the newer models. But, I think it depends on the specific use purpose as well

Yeah true. But in general, for my usercase, I just pick a small/fast AI model as my things often aren't that complicated
