😅 I recognize I live in an area with high datacenter costs, but an image of my current situation is pictured below. The fun of homelabing! Surprisingly workable though. Turns out Dell R630s can be pretty quiet. The dual S4112-ON switches took some firmware adjustment before they stopped being deafening. Barely visible on the bottom of that stack is an Intel 2u4n that I'm working to get OpenStack spun up on. Thanks in advance for your assistance!

  • never seen a couchDC, good job, feels probably nice... heated seats

  • lmao

  • @DeadlyChemist Yup! Recently helped a friend for a space competition and ended up using all five servers at 100% capacity. Because the intake and outflow are properly separated, you end up with sweating feet and a frozen back. Also discovered that my UPS is ~200w less than what I need. Oof.

my ups is diy, i dont even remeber how much current i can pull from it... but yeah

  • NC is certainly workable!

We can probably handle the 500w in NY if you are willing to do that.

3kw is a little bit much for burst tho, is that really how high it will get.

    The way we bill:

    $60/u (includes 100w power & 10tb bandwidth)
    $50/100w additional
    $2/tb additional

Happy to discuss if you would like.

    Hey :)

Are you interested in Texas? We are building our own data center in Irving and can offer a very competitive price.

If you're interested, please send me a PM. ;)

  • @Tang_Lichun , Appreciate the offer, but TX is a wee bit farther from VA than I'm willing to go.

    @ksoutar I'll send you a pm!

All, to those who celebrate, happy Thanksgiving!

The home lab in a couch is one of the most unique things I've ever seen on LowEndTalk.

  • LordSpockLordSpock Member, Host Rep

I am very rarely impressed by homelabs - but damn that couch DC is cool, great work man.

  • 😄 Why thank ya! I had put the server box on the chaise and realized it might work. Some sound insulation and some fans later, poof! Couch DC.

We have a large footprint in NY happy to help. Multiple suites onsite staff.
