Expensive. You could take here 2tb for 20-50/y, cheaper if flash deal
wait for hostbrr,
downtime is a lot
I had a lifetime plan. Sold it. Downtimes. Redacted status page. All sketchy.
@budi1413 @Astro I see, so what other service do you recommend for personal storage for backups of important data with easy access from GNU/Linux and Android? [current needs is < 50G, I like Filen for now as the plans are stack-able].
Regarding downtimes, did you guys use it for daily backups? Or how did you use it? I do not have such issues for last few months. Although I don't do frequent backups with it.
I once reported a valid occuring bug on their discord, got attacked instead for supposedly trying to undermine their fuckin buggy mess app. Not going to touch that shit with a 10 foot pole nor would i recommend it to anyone, not even to my greatest enemy. Fuckin noob service.
It appears to be poorly reviewed.
was tempted, 50€ one time... but the rewievs here dont look good
I am using its free plan. Working good for me.
nahh im skipping
too sus, feel like deadpool
Then you can try the coolest BF deal ever by Hetzner
Deal is for Storage Share only:
Free for one month!!! wow!
jk jk.
Hostbrr BF coupon from last year is working now.
Just saying.
Good cloud provider. Never had any issues and the product is only getting better. Hopefully they will keep it up.
Unlimited bandwidth!😍
Guys, I apologize for sharing a referral link without mentioning that it was a referral link. I also failed to provide a non-referral link.
Thank you, @Angstrom, for correcting me!
If you would still like to try it, you will receive an additional 10 GB on top of the 10 GB included in the free Starter plan by using the referral link below:

Have a couple of their lifetime plans on two different accounts from BF 2022, lifetime plans were far more cheap then. Working okayish I think.
I've been with them since the beginning. Mediocre performance. Syncing is troublesome, and sometimes you lose your files.
The last BF deal was 50% off, which is worth it only for storing offsite backups.
They also excluded their pricing page from the Wayback Machine. I don't know the motive behind it.
I've been using them since ~2022 and although they've had a few hiccups, it's a pretty solid service. Worth noting development is slow as up until recently there's only been 2 or 3 people working there, although they are currently hiring so hopefully it only gets better.
Them stopping lifetimes after this sale has been the plan for a while and I would've thought that would be seen as a positive overall, as we've seen here what can happen with lifetime offers.
True. That being said, Starter Lifetime plan for 100G is always available. Also these plans are stack-able so you can get more if you want.
I am seriously considering 200G or 500G Lifetime. But looking at the annual recurring prices, they make more sense.
Yeah the monthly seems better overall - I have a 500G lifetime from last BF and I also have 2x 2TB monthlies from the previous BF too.
You are invested in the service. Do you believe the service will run for at least five to eight more years? Having read your comment, I am starting to gain the courage to purchase a 500G lifetime. As it is the last chance. Ain't it?
Apart from small things that people mention, it seems positive overall. I don't want to sway you either way, but they recently hired someone to concentrate on mobile and it does seem like they're hiring more.
To me it doesn't seem like a company planning to deadpool that soon...
looks like a vibecoded slop nuh uh thanks
I don't currently need that much storage, but having an extra 200 GB of encrypted cloud storage would allow me to back up important files at frequent intervals.
Going for 200G Lifetime for sure.
doubtful from looking at their code and with how long they've been around/how much data they store.
Let's get one thing straight, i'm in no way advertising or praising any cloud storage but there are only 3 cloud storages worth a sub nowdays : pcloud , koofr and filen.
Pcloud is the most expensive and they don't offer you zero knowledge encryption if you don’t buy the pCloud Crypto which is basically another paid add-on meaning they are a huge rip-off in the end.
Koofr has the worst possible upload and download speeds out there, yea they are very old on the market but that is a huge deal-breaker, i have a 2.5 gbit fiber line and i won't support any company that lets me upload a 5 gb file in 20 minutes.
Now we have Filen, which released 5 years ago on the market ( much younger ), their support answers within 1 hour in my experience and they actually want more feedback from you, their upload speeds are above average and their in-built video player is aeons above all the others in this category, yea the android app had some issues with the latest update but they are working hard to fix it.
Mega.io is still the best if you want performance, fast desktop sync, almost no downsides in streaming their content via the app or desktop but the only problem is they never sell any lifetime accounts.
My advice is to ignore all the posters above and check some reddit feedback on the matter, those ppl actually own these services compared to these rando posters.
I use the same three services and am always on the lookout for more.
I also have had zero issues with any of them. Granted, I'm an rclone only user so the desktop versions dont apply to me, and its been great with pcloud and koofr. I'm anxiously awaiting the final release of filen's rclone additions once they get their bugs sorted out.
Have you ever tried filelu? I've considered grabbing a few terabytes from them to match my koofr lifetime purchase.
Heard good things about Filelu but never tried it, also pcloud is infamous about shutting down acounts without further notice for any ammount of reasons there are a ton of reddit users who posted about this, that's why I avoid them like the plague.
Other then these 3 I would only watch for mega.io but as I said above they don't offer any kind of lifetime membership, but even as a monthly backup they are 110% worth it.
