today marks the first time i've given up a VPS purchased with help of LET community and offers, this was one of the very first tries, I was prowling the forum in summer and found and nice half-year deal for next to $16 or so.. little that I knew, it wasn't as nice as i thought.. a few months later i was able to snag 2 x $12/yr deals from same provider, which now remain, but halfyear deal is gone, and good riddance

while i was 100% sure my combo of melatonin+sleep aid+white noise blasting all night would not allow my wife's actions outside my room to wake me up in the middle of the night, i was wrong already twice.. yesterday it was her throwing dishes in the sink.. so loud, although very shor-lived and i fell back asleep after relieving myself, but this night the worst nightmare happened.. she turned on heat in the middle of the night... to make her showering warmer. the funny part is the in the shower there's like a natural blockage on the heater hole made with a pile of her clothes, so no warm air gets in there... what a stupid person.. in any case, woke up from being too hot, cause i sleep right about the heater vent in my room, so i opened window for cold air and took me an hour to get back into sleep mode.. i hate heat at night.. i'd rather wake from cold than from heat.. so now i gotta close heat vent overnight, as i did always last 2 years that i sleep alone..
sorry, just complaining..
we had 2 back to back last night.. while they were kinda due cause 2 days before that nothing happened, i guess we could be expecting slightly higher rate to hit this week, right?

the heat comes from the heater downstairs.. heater is a bit glitchy, so have to actually manually reach in and crank up the turbine for it to start working right, otherwise it doesn't speed up as well as it should, cannot propel heat into ducts, and overheats itself.. yeah, it's cold these days.. not as bad as one might think, but in a few days gonna be below 0C.. lately winter in chicago starts early - late nov, early dec, the coldest days end somewhere mid dec, then january is mild, and mid feb cold comes again.. although not enough snow for my taste..
