  • In Asia, I actually find LA DC03 better than DC02 (I've had both). Currently getting routed via Arelion/Twelve99 both up&down.

  • Hell.i would like to double the bandwidth Order Number: 2601957469

@noob404 i think this is why you're under impression that Toronto VPS was given.. It was a DC-03 LA restock celebration, why would the prize be a Toronto VPS? i was just pulling @DaDeveloper's chain for being first winner..

Just cause the Toronto VPS were RackNerd's latest offering. So, it would definitely be exciting to win one.

    that i bought one.

    How is it?

is good. not a single problem since july 28.

Oh I see. Maybe I should get one.

Are you using it for production? I am currently looking for a production-ready or close to that for Asian market.

OH i finally figured out what Top 40 Time lapse: on @MrEd stats page is.. i kept thinking what is it... weird names, just 3 count max.. finally got it.. you need to grad that little dot as a slider.. quite impressing.. KUDOS

That was a very fun thing to make. You can watch yourself comming into the tops and see apl the differences :)

Hey, under comments per day, why does yours show all instead of the numbers?

Its just an easter egg. :) But in case I manage to be in the top per day, it would show number correctly :)

Yah, I noticed that yesterday and I felt that was pessimistic on your part. Believe in yourself bro. Is NY gonna be the thread where you take the 1st prize?

    Nope...

And I have three children, so I have where to spend my time :)

  • @noob404 said: Are you using it for production? I am currently looking for a production-ready or close to that for Asian market.

Well, my website and projects are personal, so not production-ready in a business sense. I've currently got 3 servers, 1 master and 2 slaves. So if the master goes down, one of the slaves takes over. The vps in LA DC03 is the first slave right now. The master is in Tokyo.

I'm not using any shrink wrapped utility to do the failover, though I would think there must be something out there. I programmed it all myself.

But the main components are a monitoring server (a raspberry pi at home for me), a control channel so the servers can communicate, keeping the content and databases synced, and switching the dns.

I use nsd on each server for the dns and have separate config files for each master/slave mode that can be switched into place.

Okay, thanks for that. I now have a general idea about what is to be done. I am also planning to setup a monitor for my servers. Have a Luckfox Pico Pro (128MB) at home that's been lying idle. Since yesterday's discussion with @schrauger I have been planning to get Keepass running on it. I will see if it can run a minimal server monitor as well.

Totally get it. Family takes priority.

Well, this weekend was a spending weekend :) I have bought a laptop for my biggest son "MSI Thin 15 B12UC, Intel Core i7-12650H, 16 GB, 512 GB, 15.6", NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050", so now he has much better one that my own :D
