basically here you recommended me flint2 https://lowendtalk.com/discussion/211159/need-a-router-for-home-use-im-terrible-at-networking#latest
anyways, i got it, and tl;dr;
i get my public IP from my Vodafone Station (thats in bridge-mode (basically modem)
anyways, it works, my flint2/gateway is 192.168.178.1
everything works
how do i install netbird on this thing? going to packages, no netbird, going to luca package manager, no netbird and on ssh no netbird either
could someone help me with that? also i would like to be able to access netbird adresses from any device on my network, so if 192.168.178.2 (phone) pings let's say 192.168.0.2 it can reach it
is this even possible? if so, how
also if you know any tricks, and plugins etc let me know... already running adguard home but would like to filter out more crap....
i suck at networking, im suprised ANYTHING works...

Have you upgraded the firmware?
im on newest 4.8.3
Well you should be able to install netbird with
opkg update && opkg install netbird
Ahhh.... yeah you also need to update openwrt to 24
can i do it without fucking everything up? cuz i already set a lot of things up... mostly in the glinet interface, i dont touch the luca stuff cuz yeah
last thing i want is angry gf
Hmmm.....possible that it resets everything.
Wait until she is out lol
my gf? yeah i can forget that
the firmware? fair, i can wait, it works...
sidequestion, is there a way to install something like openspeedtest on it?
also if you have any ideas of optimization, removing crap etc let me know
im terrible at networking and i really really appreciate any help!
I am by no means a network expert. I generally tinker until it works and that often takes a lot of tinkering!
Hopefully, someone with a bit more expertise will jump in here or jump on r/GlInet
Yes, you can install speedtest on flints among other tools
thanks, i wont use reddit, never ever did i have remotely good exp....
@DeadlyChemist I can help you out, posting your question from my account.
had a look at your reddit and LMFAO but also good stuff
Personally, I use tailscale and they have better support on GL inet products but anyways.. found this. It may help you out.

Looks like netbird isn't avaliable until 22.03

better change the firmware to vanilla openwrt
gl.inet always using old openwrt firmware as their base firmware
