China😁 No advertising
Use HE tunnel broker, set your account's registered location to China
The geolocation of Routed /64 inherits the account's region
YouTube’s ad-free in Iran too
Ask @AlbaHost about custom deal.
But it seems to only have Hong Kong in Asia? Or are you talking about my account settings where I put my address and country and stuff?

Yes. You may refer to this Chinese tutorial.
I already have an account created though. If i change the region, will it still work?
I haven't experienced your situation myself, but it's probably more predictable to just create a new account.
Btw, don't choose countries that are strictly sanctioned by the US. Doing so may cause unpredictable account bans, etc. China is a safer choice for your needs.
Alright, thank you so much!
@avsisp provides Albania VPS
I heard Moldova does not do Youtube ads.
If you need this for android tv/box/nvidia shield or firestick there is smarttube app which blocks ads from youtube.
Not really good idea to route your traffic through another country for the sole purpose of getting rid of Youtube Ads. A lot of videos are restricted that cannot play specifically in those Ads-free countries.
Better off using an adblock service/plugin imho.
you just need to proxy
www.youtube.com. have been doing it for quite a while and has been working flawlessly.I’m already using ControlD to route YouTube through Albania. Regarding region restrictions, i haven’t had many issues. I’m trying to do the same with my selfhosted DNS setup on my IncogNET server now. I could set the upstream dns for youtube’s domains to ControlD (it works like that too), but I want a more cost effective way.
Don’t you also need to proxy googlevideos? I remember it didn’t fully work for me unless I proxied some other domains
It seems Moldova serves ads now. I used to use Moldova though, and it worked well before.
Something may have changed. I do not keep an eye on this coz adblocker is enough to forget about ads. Or better use invidious.
Ah, rip. I bought a Russian VPS yesterday, but youtube still serves ads on it. And, funnily enough, I accidentally selected daily billing when I bought it, and it showed $0/day. I opened a ticket, and support told me it only allows monthly billing, not daily, and that I can’t create a new one because that VPS plan is limited to one per person. I said I'm gonna use it anyways, and they replied "OK". So I guess I get a free Russian VPS? I want to pay, but they wouldn’t let me, lol.
I guess I’m gonna do the HE Tunnelbroker method. I just have to wait for the GeoIP databases to update the IPv6 to China which i'm impatient for.
Since I'm already running a custom sni proxy stack (adguard + nginx), the integration might work? I'll set up the HE tunnel interface on the host, then update my nginx stream config to map youtube domains to a separate backend. Then I can just use proxy_bind to force that specific traffic out through the ipv6 tunnel while letting everything else exit via the normal VPS ipv4. Hopefully it works.
On PC, yes. But thats not possible with youtube's native apps unfortunately
You're doing something wrong then. If the YouTube logo shows something else than "RU" then it's bad GeoIP. But Russia has been ad-free for years.
Well, I thought I did something wrong with my dns routing config. So I quickly spun up wgeasy, and tested it on my phone. Youtube still serves ads.....
Youtube shows Youtube GB, so I guess its a bad GeoIP
Videos also take ages to load
Ah yes, this is true. I do not use youtube directly anyway, so was never puzzled by this.
i cant tell if this is a genuine recommendation or a shameless self advert. never had someone on LET dm me with a recommendation like this 🤷♂️
@s0n1c I just wanted to help you and nothing more. That's why I sent it in private messages. You can just ignore it, and not use it. After such messages, I don't want to help anyone at all…
Sorry, I didn't mean it like that. I never received a dm advert from anyone on LET like that, and that dm you sent felt one of those dm adverts where they self advertise or try and scam people. If I was wrong about that, its fully on me, and i apologize.
Just ignore my message, good luck in your search
You need to grab a VPS with no TSPU. YouTube is heavily throttled there.
It's usually easier to just use Albania or Moldova.
TSPU installed almost everywhere. If you choose Russia, then the server is in St. Petersburg
Host.al for Albania.
Also a few other partners that have VPs from Albania
