Hello, does this get KYC'd/verified? - or if my nordic mate @emgh signs up with his very real name Fuhney Cahtpick does you just accept that is factual information and we call it a day?

No, they'lk check against actual people. Bit fuzzy... Can't come up with the term. You'll need business registration or be a real citizen so yeah...

Hello, does the business have to be registered in Norway?
beansummerhost.no/speech does have a ring to it..

Yes... They're tight like that. But you know, worth to spend that money to register in no in order to get a 85 SEK cook domain am I right?

I'd rather sniff glue than give my real details to the Norwegians for them to publish to the world in a WHOIS entry

They won't, they'll redact your PII.

Doesn't matter anyway. You need to be Norwegian citizen with a Norwegian personal number ("SSN") to get the PID for individuals.

For orgs, you need to have some base of operations in Norway.

Can you register one for me as a trustee ? $7 pls

    Sure he'll take a 69.

Scandinavian people who going to work in Norway, can get Norwegian personal number easily.

Fair point. "Citizens" is the wrong choice of word I suppose

Regardless beanman doesn't really fit that criteria either lmao

LET guys, what happened to you guys?

Almost every comment nowadays is: "Do you have a $7/year VPS?"
Please choose the appropriate thread before throwing these requests everywhere.

It has become unbearable. Someone posts a new dedicated server offer for $99/year or any other price, and many of you immediately jump in with: "Do you have a $7 VPS?", "When will you post a $7 deal?", and some even add jokes about it.

    What’s going on?
Many providers no longer participate on LET because of this. We barely see their offers anymore, simply because every thread gets flooded with $7 comments.

If a company actually posts a $7 offer, then sure, comment on that thread.
But please don’t ruin other people’s topics with unrelated jokes and repeated $7 requests.

Thank you @gigahost I will be your customer but I'm waiting for Black Friday deals if you're thinking of posting dedicated server offers (AMD Ryzen 9950X3D).

My friend @FAT32 , do you agree with me, or are you also looking for the $7 deals :D

We have restructured our virtual server offerings. We now provide both AMD EPYC and Intel Gold CPU options with lower prices than ever before. Our virtual servers now start at just 49 NOK per month. Thats 4.18 EUR or 4.86 USD.

Check out our new plans here:

    Hi everyone,

We wanted to share some transparency regarding our Amsterdam location.

Over the past years, we've operated infrastructure both in Norway and Amsterdam. Amsterdam made a lot of sense at the time.

However, over the last 12–24 months we've seen a very clear shift. The majority of new deployments are now happening in Norway, and demand there continues to grow rapidly. At the same time, we’ve significantly expanded our infrastructure, capacity, and onsite capabilities in Norway, where our core team and operations are based.

Because of this, we've made the decision to discontinue our services in Amsterdam and instead focus on scaling further in Norway.

This is not a downsizing decision. Gigahost is growing strongly, but we're consolidating infrastructure where it makes the most sense long-term.

    Important note:

We are NOT leaving Amsterdam from a network perspective.

We will continue to maintain active presence and peering at:

    • AMS-IX
    • ERA-IX
    • PNIs

Latency impact between NL and our Norway DC is approximately +13 ms, which is negligible for most applications.

For customers currently hosted in Amsterdam

We are handling migrations individually and carefully.

    Options include:

    • Replacement server in Norway (same or better specs)
    • Physical relocation of existing hardware to Norway
    • Or cancellation if preferred

Physical relocation downtime is estimated under 24h in most cases.

All affected customers are being contacted directly via ticket.

    Pricing and terms remain unchanged.

    This move allows us to:

    • operate closer to our onsite team
    • scale capacity faster
    • improve operational efficiency, hardware replacements, new deployments etc
    • and continue investing in new infrastructure

We're currently expanding further in Norway and have several large projects underway for 2026.

Amsterdam was great for us and our customers, but consolidating infrastructure is the right long term decision given where growth is happening.

If anyone has questions, happy to answer in this thread.

    Andreas
    Gigahost AS

  • The idea makes sense. There are many other providers focusing on Amsterdam anyway. Congratulations @gigahost for focusing on Norway!

March 2026 update - Webhosting, Flux redesign, and more

We are now offering webhosting packages. NVMe SSD storage, LiteSpeed web servers and Redis cache. Prices start at 19 NOK/month. Thats 1.60 EUR or 1.86 USD.

More details and ordering here: https://gigahost.no/webhotell

    Flux Panel redesign
Flux has been redesigned from the ground up for 2026. Along with the new UI, we've shipped a number of new features over the past months:

    • DNS zone management with DNSSEC, PTR records, zone import/export
    • DynDNS-compatible API endpoint - works with routers, ddclient, etc
    • Certbot DNS plugin (certbot-dns-gigahost) on PyPI for dns-01 validation
    • Custom disk partitioning for dedicated servers directly from the panel
    • Automated Windows installation - Windows 10, 11 and Server 2025 Standard
    • Data Processing Agreement (GDPR) - fully automated, sign directly in the panel
    • Custom and fully integrated webhosting panel directly in Flux

    Server Auction update
We've sold several hundred servers through our reverse auction since launch. Prices decrease continuously until someone places an order. Worth checking regularly if you're looking for an inexpensive dedicated server.
    https://gigahost.no/serverauksjon

    VPS
For anyone who missed it, we relaunched our VPS platform earlier this year with Value and Performance tiers starting at 49 NOK/month excl VAT. More info here: https://gigahost.no/virtuell-server

As always, happy to answer questions in the thread.

That should probably not be there. But if you order it, it will eventually be physically relocated to Norway :)
