I guess I am alone yet again.

I'm still lurking for the time being, setting up a new microsd for my summercart64 :)

Oh good luck with that. BTW, are you planning on tinkering with that 3d before jb arrives. Maybe UART/serial and try to understand, how you could jailbreak it, for instance?

Nah, I have a flash cart, no need for me to worry about it. As for applying it when it gets released, it all depends on what it enabled. I didn't JB my other analogue consoles/devices since it didn't add anything to my experience

though I do enjoy uart-ing things, just won't be done on this thing since there's no need.

Again, I was just being curious. Only recently did I get into UART and I have always been curious. Last month tried to UART an old dish TV box that I had lying around. Unfortunately, couldn't figure the points out completely. Don't have an oscillometer.

Yeah, oscilloscopes make it easier but they're usually arranged in a certain patterns and you can use a generic multimeter to figure out the volatage and which is which.

I have tried that as well, but, an oscilloscope becomes almost a necessity when you have to figure out the baud rate. Most are standard, but, at times, you come across some devices which have a custom baud rate. Any workarounds for that?

Start with 115200, if that doesn't work, then try 9600. I have yet to experience one of those two not work... If they don't, you will have to just go through all the different standard rates or you will need an oscilloscope. I don't have one but I do kind of want to buy one this black friday. Though it's not bad to try the different bauds, it's only really important to have the proper voltage selected on the uart. Like, doing 5v on a 3v is very bad.

P.S. Sometimes it's disable but will usually show stuff when it first powers up and will typically have some way to break the startup/keep uart enabled so make sure you are logging it or have a large scroll buffer

  • KEEP US WANTING ON OUR TOES? WE JUST HYPE UNTIL IT BLOWS

  • ONCE IN YEAR COMES THE CHEF, LEAVING BEHIND MEMORIES WE CHERISH!

  • that is starting to get away... last one

Yah, that's how my workflow goes, start with the standard ones and do a deep search for any non-sensical baud rates that manufacturers use and try them as well. If nothing works, I just give up./
