i was silly and bought amiga and c64 as separate devices a few years back.. now can buy 1 device with 100k games that has 2 dozen emulators (up to PS1) in them.. sheeesh...

I don't think so, there are many cart readers/writers/rippers out there. Honestly, probably just not worth their time/effort because it's kind of a niche product that's designed to play original games and use original accessories. It's not like someone will be like "I'm buying this instead of using Nintendo's online emulation!" and take money away from Nintendo.
