reverse proxy but yes.. i keep all sources on 1 farm-site. and using many vps with reverse proxy to serve from that farm, while farm does all the PHP stuff.. so VPS doesn't have to..
my hotspot WIFI box has its own phone number than ends with 6969... i will never give it up

VPS only has nginx + certbot for SSL
maybe i phrased it wrong and it's not a reverse proxy.. but normal proxy? anyways
location / { proxy_pass to http://IP:80; etc }
and on IP i have nginx+php
so 1 central cerver does all.. no SSL there though ...
i know it's silly but works for me.. for example VPS is involved in high BW+CPU usage download or whatever, the PHP doesn't add any load there, simple nginx gets stuff from elsewhere with zero extra load on the VPS

but currently i am moving from VPS that was fully tunneled thru CloudFlare, cause has some vicious DDOS at some point, so had to hide and protect and also IP was known so ended up changing that plus tunneling both ways thru CF, so now i break that, change Nameservers, all kinds of stuff. Usually i'd just have to change IP in DNS and set up simple nginx config, now i also have to setup on the farm.. so it's stupidly annoying process where errors don't really make it better, say PHP config error - whole farm goes belly up for a few seconds, till i figure that accidentally put spare servers less than start servers or something similar..
depends... probably not, as it add a step you know? first you reach VPS, then VPS asks FARM for html, Farm Makes it up from php sometimes or simply serves back html, VPS gets it back and sends it to you.. as opposed to having no farm then all happens on VPS.. so no extra time waiting.. although that time is minimal, it adds up... thankfully no wordpress for me, that takes ages to generate..
i found out you can just buy that stuff for money... someone had to show me where, couldn't find link myself..

I've always wanted some crunchbit merch! I still have one of their LET VPSes until 2027 (iirc) and in theory, I should be able to renew it with their new setup/plan/whatever (I reached out to support after that whole thing).
had my cheapest VPS with them, but didn't; work for my purposes, gave up, since then they never have available anymore

It's been nice for me. I originally used it for a dev host but someone in the Descent community wanted to make a tracker for Descent 3 when the source code was finally released (like decades later) so I "donated" the VPS to it. The deal was insane, which is also why I went with tri-annually on it! I was super sad that some in the LET abused it and caused that whole thing to happen... It's why I reached out to their support about renewing it because I know I'm a "good" customer (even though I'm small since I only have that one service through them).
hehe, I run the main tracker for Descent 1 & 2 (rather, dxx-retro and dxx-redux ports) and for one Descent 3 port.
They were great back in the day. just had to request it by mail and they'd send it. If I ever get to clearing out the attack I'll probably find some old laptop covered in those stickers.
