My home ISP does not even support ipv6

Mine does, and it's a headache most of the time.

my home ipv6 changes a LOT.. ipv4 stays same for long time, although it's mobile and I'm behind NAT, so I personally use VPN as I'm involved in some filesharing, gotta be connectable, and NAT prevents any back-connectivity.. with VPN though all ports are open.. =)

I have one of the nicest flash deals from last year, and I shall cherish it, even tho this year's BF is pretty close, the flash deal is ever so slightly better (my 4gb deal being about 3 bucks cheaper) :)

Oh yah, I do remember, you and Ben both got some good deals.

I am yet to understand if there are any specific benefits of ipv6 for me, as a very small website owner.

    Sure there is!
Some ISP's don't give you an ipv4 anymore! So there people cant reach your website directly but the traffic is forced through an ipv4to6 tunnel.
Just another hop in the connection i.g. loading time point of failure.

Ipv6 is just faster and less hops in the network - it's the future.

I guess, I really have to look into ipv6 for my websites soon.

    Hi good morning

Hey buddy. bchot has got a hang of the game and is doing super good. Come join the race.

Oh wow. More competition for the gaming pc 😳

Yup, it's a great offer to miss out on. I hope whoever wins is able to ship it safely to their place.

i put my trust in USPS.. and UPS. and Fedex.. just gots to unlock the gate.. PC is not an item i'd like thrown over the fence, which happens a lot when the gate is locked. just leave it to me.. =)

BTW, forgot where you are from. Did you mention that already?

How do y'all backup your photos from your phone etc?

i used to hook up phone to PC via usb. but did you guys know Android now allows to simply share your files from PC to android and back? they easily fall into downloads folder within seconds, no need to have wired connection anymore. made me so happy, that's the most recent Android update that does it.

You don't need an VPN if you have a decent VPS that can be tuned into an VPN.
With an ipv6 /64 even with an VPN with full ipv6 support ;)

pivpn is super easy to setup and use

Yup, it's a great offer to miss out on. I hope whoever wins is able to ship it safely to their place.

Unless they live outside the US :disappointed:

Re-shipping is still an option, unless you live somewhere where the customs department actively works against imports.

But shipping and taxes and so on :)
But imagine how many years you can run the cheapest VPS with the credits from the gaming pc :D

Yah, that's the best part. With over $800 in RN credits, you are set for atleast 10 years, if you aren't an addict idler.

Yep. Even longer with the smallest plan!

with just 1 VPS on the smallest plan, you can put it in your will and children might even be able to pass it on to your grandkids.. it's like 80 years worth of... something to fight for.. by the time it expires, computers as we knows them might just be obsolete.

I'll probably get like a 4 GB ram vps if i win it

well that'll be like what, 20 years still? or 40.. still good IMHO.

good VPN only costs like $5 a month or so...ProtonVPN is great, and they have free tier, although it's only good for browsing, file downloads will take too long. There's free WARP VPN from Cloudflare, and it has NO LIMITS on anything, just there';s also a paid tier where you get MORE. BTW, WarpVPN is available to install on linux via very easy instructions listed at 1.1.1.1 and you get all the speed and DNS resolving of CloudFlare. Even some services consider final IP as residential ones..

anyways, I gots to get out for a bit, will rejoin in an hour or so. As i noticed no GAs happened, so maybe later, maybe i will be around for the next one..

  • I just realized I have one similar comment. My goal was to have 0 similar comments, but it looks like I already failed...

Yah, I guess. But, moving such a huge forum to a newer platform without breaking is gonna be a bigger pain, maybe. No idea what is preventing LET to do that though, since they do have the resources to put something like that into effect.
