    Well guys... aparently the reason cloudflare went down was because they used Rust's .unwrap() function in production XD... I mean Rust is good if you use it right, but you need to do things right and actually vet and stress test before sending things into PROD

    It's 2025, there's environments besides prod?! I mean, the terraform/ansible/etc passed so we're good! Only way it could be better is deploying just before 5p on a Friday or Wed next week!

    That is bad XD... I have two enviroments for each of my projects, it saves me so much pain XD

    Oh yeah, same here. For my personal stuff, I have "non-prod" and "prod" that I use. For work, on-prem has 4 environments and the cloud only 3. Though some folks skipped deploying to all environments so I actually implemented some checks to ensure it and they must have an approved change ticket before touching prod. There's still ways around it but that basically requires director level approval or a p1/p2 (prod down) incident.

    I mean I am solo developing since I am currently unemployed in the tech field, that would be overkill for me XD

    Sad to hear, my work has been cutting down on positions or outsourcing them so I feel like it's just a matter of time before it hits me. Though be happy you're using an environment before prod! Always annoys me when folks don't, especially at work where many people get paged regardless of the time of day/night to hop online. Only because 99% of the problems would get caught if they deployed to all environments and did basic testing.

    She did but its way overkill. Atleast it should last her a while xD unless it overheats and fries itself like laptops tend to do. Its still going strong though!

    Good to know. I guess the only downside would be the weight of a gaming laptop. Will take some time to get used to. But, unless they do heavy gaming, chances of frying it are pretty low.
