st-hosting, server was down for 30 minutes
How much of a downtime would piss you off in prod? My situation was: 30 minutes with st-hosting.com . 0 explanation of what happened in https://status.cyberse.de/ . Also no SLA credits.

for prod that makes money or uptime is important i would go with Azure, AWS, Google
and focus on SLA
I believe st-hosting is not a low end provider. It is normal provider while offering some bf discounts once a year.
Azure, aws, google or baidu is for business. I have hobby, but still wanna some prod feeling.
What I want to say: there is shithosts like ihostfart and there is cheaper but normal ones like v6node, colocrossing (yep, 500+ days of uptime!) should have some standards.
i would have redundancy with good providers.
and leave ihostfart for tests and learning experience once in a while.
Their website looks super shit and never heard of them.
No need to get scammed by big cloud for hobby prod, just go with Hetzner, Netcup, etc.
Cloudflare was down for 3 hours
That's going to be the benchmark for production level acceptable uptimes for quite a while 😂😂
Wrong question, rather how much downtime is fine for your application?
If you buy a single server and expect 99.99% well yea.
They were sold a while ago iirc. Since then, quality has dropped apparently. Time to move ship.
This. Any provider might have unexpected network issues upstream of them. The best solution is to have multiple servers with different providers in different locations and different network connectivity.
Got bought by @NUXOA
Does this mean you are going to swtich off of st-hosting and move to who?
Hi, thx for tagging.
We had an issue today with one of our host systems which got resolved from one of our techs within 15 minutes. We informed about the downtime on our discord server, feel free to join!
For the status page we are already working on a new page with all information's about our hostsystems, upstreams, facility info, ddos protection and so on. Hope we have it ready soon!
And yes, st-hosting.com and then CP was down today sporadically due to the Cloudflare issue. On our main page nuxoa.de we use already our on-premise solution and we have on our task board to move st-hosting.com also.
If there are any concerns about something else please drop us a ticket. Also for 7 days free expansion if your VPS was on px01 and had a downtime.
If I hear that a provider tells me I should subscribe to their Discord channel, I want to leave the host. This makes me feel extremely uncomfortable, and it makes the host look like a child runs this business. Just my opinion. Send out an email and host a status site that I can subscribe to.
Sounds a bit like you misunderstood my text. We informed on Discord and in the tickets about the issue with px01. An status page should be available to subscribe.
We took over st-hosting.com and have still some points on our todo which have to be done. One of them is the status page. But sure, there were other tasks before which had to be done.
The simplest way to do this is to send an email to all the customers.
@NUXOA, you use LXC?
Mainly we use KVM, but at st-hosting we offer also LXC servers at the moment.
one of my bad experience is with this provider and company
I advise you to stay away from them.
In lowendtalk many other excellent companies with a good track record and many satisfied customers. We're approaching BlackFriday and there will be many good offers.
I'm not with them. But I saw posts about the acquisition a couple of weeks ago.
