Has anyone here ordered a Rise-LE-3 or Rise-LE-4 (the latter w/ NVMe disk not HDDs) and if so, what kind of disks did you get?

    TomasSystems maybe?

I was wondering as well. I feel like RISE-LE-4 is the only good deal this BF (probably also SYS-STOR-LE-2 if one can make use of the disks). Pretty good bang (Ramg) for the bucks.

The Rise-LE-4 looked nice but too expensive for my needs currently.

Was drooling a little over the Rise-LE-5, hopefully will be able to grab a few of them next year.

40 threads, 256GB for £70~ pretty nice honestly especially that cpu I think it’s around 1600~ gb6 single core

Please note: this server got delivered with two SSDs (3.84TB each) instead of two 1.92TB NVMe. Support claims at the moment they have no way to change this. Looks like maybe the advertisement is all wrong and that is why the Rise-LE-4 is oos atm as the hardware does not match the offer.

Yeah, I thought Rise-LE-4 and SYS-STOR-LE 2 are the only good ones this year. But atm I'm rather unhappy about the disk situation and undecided on keeping it or not.

Could you share the make/model of the SSD? The I/O looks abnormal.

@dedipromo just added a fio test without mdadm check running in the post above yours.

Model is Micron 5300 Pro, a pretty lame SATA 3 6gps SSD. But low on power-on-hours.

  • Why did OVH screw over US customers with such worse deals compared to the rest of the world customers?

  • Well this year early sales were fun and the bf sales were meh, let's see what next year's sale will be. Maybe, 5950x for 10 bucks?? Who knows.

The Rise-Game-LE also apparently has 300Mbps, Im guessing that is a mistake :joy:

I got mixed up with that one, but i wonder what would be fun specs to have in next year's sale. Maybe it would be an epyc or maybe the exact sale as this year? 🫡

It's actually really funny that those not-needed-or-wanted-by-anyone models like the SYS-2 are excluded from extra discounts at BF. Maybe they do not even exist and nobody knows as none had ever been ordered?

  • But chicken was very yummy this year, i hope to see some epyc's or some cool xeon servers next year with lots of ram and disk. Cheers people.

  • Still catching up, saw that @TomasSystems asked me to stop in Roubaix to have a talk with Octave but unfortunately my holiday plans don't usually involve the Roubaix-Gravelines Riviera. Perhaps I'm missing out.

So in a nutshell, the casino is closed? 26skLET was indeed a typo?

Still catching up, saw that @TomasSystems asked me to stop in Roubaix to have a talk with Octave but unfortunately my holiday plans don't usually involve the Roubaix-Gravelines Riviera. Perhaps I'm missing out.

So in a nutshell, the casino is closed? 26skLET was indeed a typo?

Oh yeah it's not on the website, is it API only?

    It's the KS-LE-1

    Ahh that makes sense, thanks

Thanks. Good to know, but for Plex QuickSync, do we need it activated like that, technically I don't need display, just the encoder. (sorry if it's a stupid question)

Ok I got it figured out, no need to fumble around BIOS -- iGPU is enabled on KS-LE-B but due to nomodeset the i915 driver won't load.

Plex detects the iGPU as well:

It's really hard to beat the value of KS-LE-B! I just hope the 70k hours old HDD will survive long enough lol.

    No, it is LET special.

  • You need to relax it's just usual OVH BF
    Take care of your KS-LE-B

We really need a LET wiki as the internal search is build straight out of an agencies torture catalogue and public search engines are loosing quality every day. At least LET is not discord or one of those other closed circle stupidities where all wisdom gets lost and by that the same questions will be asked again and again.
