Are there any alternative providers to Cloudflare?
It's been down for nearly three hours. Are there any other free hosting services available?

I guess by free hosting you are referring to cloudflare pages, if thats the case use github pages, even kinsta has free static hosting. For dns you can try desec.io they are very good. I dont think there's any free alternative for waf tho!!
Thanks for the update. I'll check out desec.io. If there's an outage, I'd like to switch over quickly.
Gcore does have a free plan in their offerings.
Use Bunny
I can offer free hosting but for free cdn it cloudflare only
HE.net has free DNS.
website with Cloudflare, was not down today (I know there is an incident).
are you self-serve? Enterprise did not receive impact that much. again you don't get everything for free or hassle-free, it can never happen.
bplaced.net

I have dozens of sites with CloudFlare, all on the free plan. 50% of them went down, while the rest didn't. But I'm not thinking of switching providers because of these three hours of downtime. I even registered my domains with CloudFlare, saving a lot of money.
When faced with things like this, you just have to get up and keep going. Tomorrow will be another day.
no one compete Cloudflare at this moment
There is no free or paid offers that can come even close to cf.
You're not supposed to offer services without host rep/ patron provider tag
Not many in the L7 DDoS space with a global network that can handle capacity of Cloudflare
Cloudflare goes down only a few times a year and it's free. Good luck with your search.
Akamai
Sorry for that

What would you do if hit with 1.5 TB of DDoS?
Null route IP lol

There are also a few interesting self-hosted app that can be good depending on your situation/budget/willingness.
Alibaba Cloud ESA (Edge Security Acceleration) also offers global CDN, WAF, DNS, SSL/TLS, Pages & Edge Runtime (Worker), Unlimited Egress and more. It's pretty similar to Cloudflare, but I still prefer Cloudflare at this moment
If just for WAF/Reverse proxy, BunkerWeb on a DDoS protected VPS?
Yes just don't use one at all. Let people connect to your server to load your website
I just want to be able to quickly switch to another provider when Cloudflare goes down, ensuring uninterrupted service. This is a backup option, not sitting here waiting like we are today.
Yes, Alibaba Cloud and Tencent Cloud are both good solutions, but only if your content isn't subject to their censorship—which is far more frightening than service interruptions.
Cloudflare already provides such a service, but after today's incident, I must have an alternative solution ready to deploy at any time. For the short term, I don't need to overthink it—as long as service remains uninterrupted. Because if service goes down, my users will flood group chats and social media with questions and concerns.
Is your plan to change nameservers every time an incident like this happens? I remind you that the dashboard was also down, so you couldn't even change DNS records. And you must have DNS with Cloudflare for their CDN stuff.
Not sure about people saying paid plans didn’t get as impacted. I’m on business and got fucked.
Same... On the bright side, my lowend cluster was humming along nicely. Reconsidering what I'm gettin for 200/m . That's a while lot of low-end chicken to fry.
