and... @noob404 came late but he is already in top 5 :D

i know... can;'t sleep with these guys..

Well, he is top 1 (because Dustin doesn't participate) already :) So... We have no hope :D

don't even get me started on that.. I keep trying to catch up, keep seeing messages that was mentioned somewhere a few paged ahead... but cannot get there yet..

It's all part of the grind. You will get used to it, in no time. How do I know? Well, I have been there.

Sometimes i get like 2 minutes of unskippable ads which is very annoying, especially when something important is happening.

There was someone on an Indian subred that posted a screenshot of a 30 minute unskippable ad on YouTube. They are becoming a norm right now.

Well honestly dns based ad blockers and unlock origin thus far has been the basic setup I do for any device I get to use.

Hey, don't mind me asking, but, is this your first time on the RackNerd BF/NY thread?

yes. heres a few more words so I don't increase my similar comments count.. =)

LOL! You can still keep the convo organic. Don't worry too much. BTW, I added a few words of encouragement for you somewhere, maybe on this page or the previous one.

I'm curious, do any of you watch twitch regularly?

Have never once used Twitch in my life. I am not a huge fan of gameplay videos.

Aah. I watch some small minecraft streamers and i've been working on starting my own channel too

Good luck, dude. Also check Kick and Rumble, if you are interested. Maybe try streaming to all 3. Might increase revenue.

I only started like a week ago, so I usually only get like 1 viewer lol (my friend).

Share it here and who knows how many viewers you can get.

yeah, I almost feel like it's their way of trying to force people to get turbo (or whatever they call it) or to sub to the streamer. I will stream from time to time, mostly a 6DOF games I'm in a team league which has 20 minute matches so I created myself a bot where I can just do !ad30 to run ads so folks won't get interupted during the match. It's 30 seconds of ads to get 10 minutes ad-free. No clue if one can run various lengths but twitch's documentation says 30/60/90/180 second ads are the options. Though, if you run a 30 second ad and like 10 minutes left of ad free, if you run another ad break, it will add to the time

I go through spurts. Have you noticed how agrressive they've been with ads? I do use an extension but sometimes I will use mobile which I don't have a blocker on it

That's why you use DNS level ad blocker, simplifies the life.

I used to on my home network but it interfered with some things like news videos so I stopped. Though I really should setup a different WiFi SSID that will block ads, something like MyWiFi-Adblocker so it will be simple. I also used DNS66 on my android tablet which did a great job.

They are testing something, trying to serve ads from same endpoints as the video content making dns based ad blockers useless but idk if they will rollout something to block unlock and alike.

Presently, I have to do it per device, cause my router doesn't support OpenWrt. At the pace these ads are multiplying, I might have to soon get an OpenWrt compatible router.

I'm streaming minecraft. And yeah, I am planning to make youtube videos out of it too. I currently have about 10 hours of raw minecraft footage, so I gotta edit that into one or two videos.

That was bound to happen. But, only a very little fraction of viewers actually use ad blockers. Hell, the vast majority haven't even ehard of ad blockers yet.

I just use adguard home or technitium and white label the end point if issues persists with some end points being blocked

Yeah, it seems like the current thing to do is multistream to the various platforms and then post trimmed videos to youtube/some other VOD service after the fact (if you switch games/etc.) to also capture additional views

Myabe do an hour each. That way you have about 10 videos. BTW, on YouTube, space them out over a few days. On a new channel, do not upload them all together.
