Scanning of chats for kid stuff I don’t particularely like but I don’t find it a deal breaker if that’s it, given the fact that connecting an IP to a person is still manual labour and so sure it’s mass surveillence but it isn’t connected to you as an induvidual and there isn’t resources to connect every chat to an identify.
If the age verification stuff, however, leads to chat apps requiring ID verification, that’s too much for me. If this were to ever become reality within EU, which I personally think is about 50/50, I have already told myself I’ll try see how I like living elsewhere.
I’d rather be in Chiang Mai or Bali with my freedom than Stockholm with surveillance. My income isn’t tied to anywhere so I can be whereever.
So yeah if you’ll have to show your ID or face to communicate online, that’s where I’ll draw my line.
I think everyone with the freedom to move should start thinking about where they want to draw their line as this kind of thing can’t be a reactionary decision in frustration.
I just wouldn’t feel comfortable being identified whenever I write something.

Wtf are you talking about? This isn't about hate speech, but weird you'd go out of your way to defend it.
I think you replied in the wrong thread. This topic isn't on economics at all so you sound like a whack job.
But the good news is that if you visit a web site, they'll warn you about cookies so you can click "accept" to dismiss the window. Thanks, EU!
Problem is: the whole planet will be converted to zero. That dreadful motto of power "After me, the flood" by King Louis the 15th of France is coming back to haunt us.
I believe there will be no world at all. The end is nigh. But who am I to judge?
I thought the plan was to add more street cameras to fight crime, but it turns out it's about scanning messages. The US has been doing that for decades, and once again, the EU is playing catch-up.
@ChinaXiJinping You guys could learn from the EU on how to do better state surveillance.
I'm literally sitting here right now eating Yen Ta Fo
