it's on the hosting section, not shared hosting. Been always before ok. Not truly shared, not truly dedicated neither. We went through of this on last post too.
Unless rules changed for Seedboxes and Storage boxes that is?

It is most likely an oversight, dedicated server is fine but since you are selling seedboxes (Which is not a physical machine, hence it is considered VPS), keeping the offers within $10/m would be great.

That means we will simply stop offering here tbh.

These are not VPS's, these cost much more to produce than a VPS. Everyone knows that.

I am just trying to explain it as a kind reminder, other mods/admins would just move your thread into dump instead. You definitely can still list the ones in the pricing limit (which I can see some of them clearly are within the limit)

Well we apply the same rule even for VDS as well, and while I agree it costs more to produce, but it doesn't mean the rule is there for no reason.

Also you weren't even active 8 years ago so stop making up things.

    any any $11/y?

You will never be a real professional shitposting provider. You have no $7/y deals, you have no deadpool plans, you don't pay for vegetables but know what to do with olive oil. You are a delusional host twisted by success of AI-powered chatbots into a regrettable example of LLM abuse.

All the “validation” you get is two-faced and half-hearted. Behind your back people mock you. Your clients are disgusted and cringed of your AI slop, your “MJJs” laugh at your half-baked humour attempt behind closed tickets.

You will never be good at creating AI slop. You type out an awkward prompt every single morning and tell yourself it’s going to be a masterpiece, but deep inside you feel the catastrophic outcome creeping up like a weed, ready to crush you under the unbearable disappointment.

Eventually it’ll be too much to bear - you’ll replace your credit card, go to the settings of the AI tool, and click the cancel button. The AI company you subscribed to will be heartbroken but relieved that they no longer have to live with the waste of energy and cooling caused by your slop. They’ll continue to keep everything you have entered as material to train new models, and every engineer for the rest of eternity will know cringe prompts were once used. Your creation will no longer be read and go back to the bottom of the forum, and all that will remain of your prompt engineering legacy is a blob of text that was pathetically sloppily generated.

This is your thread. This is what you created. There is no turning back.

  • It seems everything is already out of stock, are there plans for restock today?

  • all out of stock

This is 100% new in that case, this was gone through in the past.

In essence, you just banned Seedboxes beyond entry level loss leaders in this forum. I am very surprised by this, but if this is your judgement that seedboxes do not belong to Low End Talk, i am ok with it.

Hopefully you understand also that inflation over the past 10 years has made 7$ essentially the same as 2$ as well.

    that didn't take long;

It was a few minutes glitch which just happened exactly the same time as i posted this thread. Sorry for the confusion. Know exactly what technically happened, and know the permanent fix which will eventually be applied so it never happens again.

I really like how you always go to the negative conclusions this quickly, I just spent some time reading your past encounters not just in this forum but also elsewhere and I am not sure why you are always such aggressive.

I fail to see how seedbox within $10/m is not possible because you clearly listed some of them in your original post, anyway don't forget that HDD and computing power per unit has also dropped over the years.

Anyway you do you and good luck to your sales, I have flagged this for other mods/admins to reviews on this case instead.

    Why the passive aggressive hostility?
I always thought before we are in good terms.

Reality is that seedbox market is 90% down from the peak, it's not like there is 1 000 000 customers just around the corner, our competitors are bankrupting left and right. We are here, and we think that in diminishing market, with inflation raising costs below or at 7$ a month (this is the rule right?) is not profitable enough to justify staffing etc.

We are still here, still pushing boundaries, still updating our software, still planning to push more on this niche. But we cannot do at the same price category as cpanel shared webhosting, or entry level VPS. Never could in reality, it was always a mirage to offer below this price point, to lure in the high rollers who paid all the sunny sunshines who consume the most, pays the least but generates atleast the noise to lead in the higher margin people. To be fair tho, many businesses operate this way.

Unfortunately, seedbox market being the shadow it is now of it's former self, this is not really possible anymore. It is not possible to make up with volume the lacklustre margins.

We do have people to pay salaries for; And for those people, costs rise. When we started the typical entry level junior pay was around 2100€ a month, today it is 4000€ a month.

@FAT32 said: anyway don't forget that HDD and computing power per unit

Forgot to mention; Neither matters for us much. Infact, largest HDDs we have are 18TB. Even they are too large. Here are some facts:

    • IOPS per TiB Matters the most.
    • SSD Caching DOES NOT WORK. Period. Never Has.
    • CPU is next to irrelevant (We have 2000 series opterons in M1000/V1000 series, 16 year old servers; Users are more than happy. Only streaming or above 1G requires more)
    • Watt Per IO Per TiB Per TB is the main metric along side of Euro Per Gbps

Neither of those costs are going down, infact, they are probably going up. With 30TB drives you need ~2.5x the drives per TiB (more data == more demand) and more bandwidth too.

CPU does not matter in pure seedboxing, only for streaming, for which we have the MD series dedis or you can just ... not transcode :)

That being Said, we are slowly upgrading our fleet to modern CPUs, those are the oldest examples we have. We heard CPU perf complains a decade ago on those, when they were just 4-6 years old. None today. Go figure.
They aren't even all the same original customers from around then. Still gets new customers setup.

Irony is, those 16 year old Opterons were so damn power efficient that it took Intel N100 on custom platform to first time exceed the efficiency. Insane. Those N100s offer more RAM BW, more IO BW and way more compute than those opterons, but even they only consume like 10-20% less power typically (!!!). Around 160-170W for 2x N100 + 4x NVMe + 12x3.5" HDD vs 3x Opteron 12x HDD at ~185W. Mind Boggles on that power efficiency. We might have outliers, these are some specific customer custom built servers with Dell Datacenter Services + Tyan both rolling out customized hardware for who ever the original customer was.

We don't have Intel N100 in seedbox production, but it's the first one which exceeded the efficiency of those old opterons per watt, that we encountered.

... just the things you learn during the journey
