That is harsh. Especially since the lxc line still persists. But the openvz had to go at some point. Especially the openvz6 based stuff.

u mean those 2 3 locations of LCX ? can't compare to what had mrv running

    Thanked by 1fluffernutter
  • i want say old linode , i know their offfer wasn't that attractive even back in the says, but their service and support are so good, i never had server issue with them , support ticket usually in few minutes 24/7. and most important is i made a lot of money with their server. that makes me miss them so much

All in due time, don't worry.

Summer host, offered to host my vintage porn stash for free then my local backup failed, Y2K caused I guess. I miss my stash so much. Return summer host!

  • Softlayer before the IBM acquisition. They had multiple locations, private networks across locations, and a solid API for everything in their portal. It all looked expensive if you were looking at their website, but with an aggressive account manager, they were one of the most affordable options around. With all that automation at the time, I don’t think there were many controls on the sales side of things. They were definitely selling servers at a loss, and even with IPv4 depletion, if you were willing to pay a very small fee, they’d give you thousands or tens of thousands of IPs, no questions asked.

IBM came in and not only put an end to many of the shenanigans on the sales side but also put its own IBM spin on things, effectively killing them for at least a certain segment that was heavily leveraging Softlayer significantly before the acquisition.
