I get it the API is public. Everyone can use the script. It just feels like the PS5 and Nvidia GPU bot races from the Covid days. Now we're using bots to buy freakin kimsufi servers. And yes I get it one guy is reselling the KS-LE-B at cost just so he/she can get glazed and become "popular" in the community. Most want $130 or more for a lottery LE-B.

I can honestly guarantee you that banning transfers on OVH's end and LET+Mjj's end will fix 90% of the problem.

But from OVH's side.... why would they?

They don't give a crap what happens after the money from the first person to buy it hits their account... if someone scalps them all, then they're all gone, thats thousands, and thousands worth - if they restrict it, then they could sell a hundred (unlikely I know, but you get what I'm getting at) and loose out

OVH is in it for the money, they don't give a crap about a one man band looking to host a website

  • as mentioned by others ovh api is open source and many good people here provided info how to use it (both directly and through scripts).

    Thanked by 1tux
  • @SashkaPro said: I think ovh can just release sale event on api and Web in the same time.

This. API folks still would have lot of fun (and ability to order faster) but restricting access to a product to a special sales channel for a given time is never nice.

But otherwise: you only breed scalpers by paying scalper prices. Just don't pay those prices. Transfer is good if seller bought too many and buyer reimburses cost, both have a win. Buyer gets a chance and seller has no minus but just some fun.

E.g. i build up redundant systems like distributed databases and need the same model (or similar model) in different locations for that. So I trade around until I have one of a kind in three locations. Others do similar things. Trading is fun.

Just don't pay scalper prices and you won't have scalpers.

Da fuck, I gamble because its fun and I get at least 1 or 2 good configurations I keep.
Giving or selling servers isn't the main goal, but they enable me, to gamble more.

  • Uh, perfect timing to get bloody eye and miss all the fun :|

  • @Neoon said: Da fuck, I gamble because its fun and I get at least 1 or 2 good configurations I keep.

That is the fun I'm talking about on the api orders & selling side like @Neoon @barbarza etc. and everyone that helped me to a KS-LE in 2025. And I love to support this fun for all the wise kids that do this.

  • This time I placed all orders through the API, but I made the payment manually except for one time. API is faster way to make order via script and maybe large customers prefer API when they are buying services from OVH.

    Thanked by 1OhJohn
  • And btw those nodeseek prices are just a result of OVH banning access to their products for China. Not good.

People has been pretty generous and open-sourced the scripts for everyone, the API documentation is public too, so I don't really see any foul play here.

I didn't actually use or read any of the scripts that people developed here, I refer to the API docs myself, manually created the order using the API explorer, effectively purchasing them manually, no automation nor scripts, but still managed to order it myself.

There's ample time (about 1-2 hours) of stock availability and I didn't even run any automated monitoring scripts, I just check this thread every once a while.

There's no real "fairness" in this world, you have to work a little bit harder so you have slightly better odds. Don't blame the player, blame the game.

Either way, the best solution in my opinion with least effort would be OVH can put up the website first, then only release the stocks later. This is not rocket science and I am sure they can figure this out.

Anyone good luck with the KS-LE-A? still got a invoice unpaid.

I did the same.. The moment I used the api to order one by one is after @Neoon posted in this thread about "$50"... that's where I checked the API and tried to order, I wasn't early but got 1-2 bad ones. Then tried my luck further, then failed again... the moment I realized, I ordered too many in 1 hour. Not planned, just addiction.

  • Btw anyone here with stock specs on KS-LE-B NVMe in RBX or SBG and want to trade with one in LIM?

I still have to diversify DC locations. (Just need one in either RBX or SBG and have one to swap in LIM). OVH EU preferred but CA possible as well.

(are swaps allowed here or would that need a special thread under transfers? As there should not be any money involved it's not a transfer if I get the rules right?)

I just want to highlight the main difference being it is not against the terms of service by OVH (as compare to the other scripts such as those concert tickets / shoes scalpers), else there wouldn't even allow this on their API. I am sure they know about this already given the QPS of all these APIs definitely increased by a lot thanks to the scripts
