Why you should avoid HostSlick - Worst customer service

The outcome of my support tickets and chats is as follows. The factual statement is that my server was down for over ten days without any meaningful response. I've come to understand why HostSlick's reputation on LET is getting worse and worse. The @hostslick owner and staff can continue to ignore my requests, but I hope more LowEnders will reject providers with such a terrible attitude.

You are right. It's just that I had already prepaid for a year's balance due to my previous most of the time satisfactory experience. Encountering such a predicament and service attitude has indeed been troubling. Anyway, this is just one of my servers.

  • Sometimes I feel like Verasel and Hostslick are the same people

  • You may want to hide your email address in the screenshots?

  • I bought their BF deal back in 2022, it still works today. In 2023, I had a dedicated server with them and had issues getting IPMI working. Maximilian was pretty helpful in getting me up and running.

But the BF deal from last year, still does not work ever since I bought it. They attempted to fix it multiple times but always end up corrupted somehow. It seems like if you buy one of their BF Deals, there is always reports of issues and they don't really bother to fix it because its unsustainable.

why does it sound like it is the community fault for making the deals unsustainable πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. Peak gaslighting

You think it is provider's fault for making unsustainable offers?! NO! It is community's fault, because they community should have brainstormed all the proper mathematics involved for the provider to make some profits and validate such offers for the provider. /s

@HostSlick - if you can't handle it anymore, or if your business is too much for you, simply send a mass announcement to all customers about its closure, then try to make refunds for the remaining time. Nobody is blaming you for going down; empires rise and empires fall; but it is better if you fall peacefully and in good conscience.

Another option would be to sell your business, but you will be at the mercy of sharks who will evaluate your business purely on assets, numbers and profits, without any care for the emotional trip you went through.

They're not but both do exist within the unmetered and DMCA ignored niche.

  • @default said: It is community's fault,

    No it's not lol
It's the business owners fault. Their only job is to make their business profitable and they failed at it.
If you can't handle LET prices without being profitable you shouldn't advertise in LET

You might have forgotten to read the whole paragraph, including the "/s" at the end.

  • Haha! I agree, LET is at fault! I hope that they have a good legal team! :D

  • Still happy with my 5TB allrounder.
    I guess I got lucky

  • Wait did HostSlick got sold or something? Or "Alexander Krylow" is just a support operator? Usually Maximilian was answering the tickets (my guess owner) and I didn't really have any issues way back in time.

Yes it is 100% the provider's fault. The provider has the final say on whether they want to engage in sales here or not. Nobody is forcing them to sell cheap. Off the top of my head, take @Clouvider for example. Solid provider and have never done any of these crazy sales and offers, and they're doing just fine.

I share the exact same feeling. I'm happy with the 5TB all-rounder server so far, but without after-sales support who knows when the files on that server are lost forever due to hardware issue, or HostSlick straight up not being able to pay bills (?) :'(

  • same here
used it for ~1.5 year without issues mostly.

Then I found that their disks sucks and all servers shamefully slow that I used except single(the first) one that worked fine all the time.

So I moved everything out from here, kept single server for some low priority jobs, and then one day I found that server disappeared. IP address is not accessible with my ssh key, password. My services down. I can see this service in client area but its not in my dedipanel.
So finally I found out that server is gone for about month.
2 months ago created ticket that got some answer but not resolved anything.
So just watching how my 500eur credits balance is burning for non existent service now.
