MOARRRRRRRRRRRR
I felt really tired yesterday and didn’t check that there was a LET gathering. I only woke up around this time in the morning.
I think @cybertech the YABS guy is still not aware there's some super fast VPS in Singapore - featuring EPYC Turin
Morning, that was fun yesterday.
Great reminder to why we write code
who where what happened

the real shocker here is the IO
Ah yes forgot to mention that, name a specs and price and hope the performance GOAT @onidel drops it
idk whats the appetite but i would pay to idle Turin:
2C3G45GB below $15
Bad news 45GB is not real in Onidel panel (Onidel have hates on disk space that ends with non-zero so most likely 40GB or 50GB), @onidel you hear the YABS man
how's the IO latency tho
its all suggestive i wouldn't mind 100GB!
I need more bandwidth low latency to run my jellyfin.
here's some motivation for onidel
What command do you need, I thought the YABS already show quite some info for the random I/O?
RAM is also in intervals of 2. Maybe a 2-4-60
Sadly one can only hope the price for 2-4-60
What’s the highest spec Turin server we can spin up with hourly billing for under an hour at say $1 tops for YABS research purposes.
Hold my beer
there's an output below that fetches latency:
for ioping seek rate
That’s an amazing YABS!
I can only watch, as long as you’re all happy.
I couldn’t add more than 4 cpu before I hit some resource limit warning.
You can build more "credit history" with the idlers then create a ticket to increase it. Hourly instances provide some very good pricing for some burst CPU load which is what I have been using Onidel for (the invoice count from many pages ago is real), thus I have slightly higher credit.
Please finish within 1 hour 🙏
Run with geekbench 4 and 5 also since they’ll scale with cpu count
Ah I only pass in 5 and 6... let me run 4 individually later
the DMCA applies only under U.S. law, so it is generally not enforceable outside the US. Local laws in other countries still apply though.
5 is probably fine. But given it’s for research…
WTH is this monstrosity?
It only took 10 minutes... Onidel Turin 32C32G monster
