Because people who are trying hard wouldn't keep refreshing the page but rather trying hard to crack the code. And you giving away means those that gave up or didn't bother trying now got it for free.
Yeah, it’s like I’m watching a scary movie more than 10 times just to find the code.
The point is for a fun challenge and a reward for those that figure it out, if Onidel just wanted to throw the code out there they would for everyone.

The "hassle" is an intentional obstacle placed there by the provider. When there are 'challenges' involved to get a promo code (regardless of difficulty), there's a bit of an unspoken rule to not straight up post the code.
Exception would be if the code has been used up/expired and others are asking for the solution to see what steps they would need to take to get to the same answer (at least in CTF-style challenges).

You know what will make it even more annoying is super low volume morse code + super dim promo code at the beginning -> where people will turn their brightness and volume to 100%
