    I like how they milk every penny from customer:

    • Location fee (discrimination. Just charge extra for bandwidth, not location);
    • Private networking fee (why? No human labour involved in this one);
    • Monitoring (who the hell monitors server from the same provider!).

    Where exactly is their "Europe" location? Still Germany or have they added other locations without Europe?

    Seems Lauterbourg, France too if you look at speedtest.net's servers from Contabo.

    Seems Lauterbourg, France too if you look at speedtest.net's servers from Contabo.

    Main locations: Germany (Frankfurt, Munich, Nuremberg)
    New hub: Near Lauterbourg near the french/german border

    Interesting LOL - I tested the connection speed with Lauterbourg from my home in Finland and the speed is pretty good, so I am thinking of trying a small VPS to see if it's the same. As I mentioned in another thread I have connection issues with some countries and the last provider I tried was OVH in Poland. The speed was decent, but not as stable as it seemed at first. I need a server with 1 TB+ storage for Nextcloud for just 3 users with one active and the other two much less active, so I don't really care if there is some steal in this case.

    Well, this may be surprising and I can't believe I am saying this, but I got a server with Contabo in Lauterbourg and it's working pretty well. Like I said I've been having transfer speed issues from Finland to Germany and other countries, and to my surprise with this Contabo VPS I am uploading at 40 to 60 MB/sec and downloading at 60 to 80 MB/sec, which is MUCH better than with other providers in that part of Europe for me. So far I haven't seem any steal either. Of course this is Contabo... so I am well aware that it may change, but given the issues I've been having for months, it's worth a try.
