Would this VPS be suitable for hosting a PHP+MySQL web application?

Comments
yup indeed it can. but not for big project. I mean if database is millions of rows, this will not be perfect fit.
GB6 score?
It's way more than enough.
How does 64k/512k/1m perform?
For Mysql, 4k blocks are preferred for very random small r/w ops. With this bench, you can easily run a high traffic website.
1416 single score is enough for php apps.
How about ruby?
How about this one?
The numbers are bigger but that doesn't necessarily mean you'll observe better performance in any noticeable way. Everyone obsesses over benchmarks but very few run sites or applications that really utilize these resources.
Just my $0.02
What I can say if you need 100MB/s writes/reads on your MySQL for a website you are doing something wrong, fundamentally wrong.
As my experience.
Any VPS with GB6 500+ and 4k 200MB/s+ is overkill, even on heavy wordpress including dynamically page generate + hard processing plugin for <10k visitor.
Throttle mostly time only network.
