if it is really available and no one sniped it before, it is close. if you don't have to go through manual payment check, they provision it really fast.
i ordered a B this month at 10:09 and it was ready for OS install at 10:16
They just might be out of stock and you might have to wait till tomorrow to retrieve it. Gotta love that you can keep ordering even though it’s out of stock
Yeah we'll see. Not in a hurry though, was just wondering.
I got a KS-2 today within 4 min. ordered through the website.
Unfortunately "just" 4x 2 TB.
If anybody has a 4x4 TB KS-2 i would be happy to take it - and even pay some finders fee
What location did you order it in?
Limburg - Germany
Has anyone used these budget OVH servers for anything production related? How's the uptime been? Ever had any hardware components die on you and if so, were they replaced quickly?
Never really had any long downtimes. Never had a component die, I did get drives replaced and they got replaced within 30 minutes.
Thanks for that feedback. Were the drives replaced as part of a upgrade or preventative maintenance?
Some SSDs were waaaay over their TBW. I even got one 120GB SSD with a lot of TBW replaced by a 480GB SSD recently.
OVH replaced the NVMe drive, although the process via the ticket system wasn’t the quickest.
Oof!
Just got the KS-2 4x 4TB disks but one of them has:
1 Raw_Read_Error_Rate 0x000f 081 064 044 Pre-fail Always - 131543104
3 Spin_Up_Time 0x0003 095 094 000 Pre-fail Always - 0
4 Start_Stop_Count 0x0032 100 100 020 Old_age Always - 93
5 Reallocated_Sector_Ct 0x0033 100 100 010 Pre-fail Always - 0
7 Seek_Error_Rate 0x000f 087 060 045 Pre-fail Always - 524981145
Replacement time I guess.
which location?
RBX.
Why would it be, these are fine. You know that when they replace they don't look for disk that are healthier/younger? You may aswell get worst
The rest has 0 issues.
I waiting KS-2 delivery in RBX, I hope that I win OVH lottery today.
Done fishing.
KS-2:

sdd 3.6T disk HGST HUS726T4TALA6L1

Haven't done a YABS yet.
But I've got a better CPU, D-1541 instead of D-1540 and 4TB instead of 2TB.
Edit: I also got 10Gbit download and 500Mbps upload. Download is more important for me so I'm pretty happy.
They just replaced the HDD. The old one was a Seagate one and the rest was HGST. They replaced it with a HGST one with 32k hours on it, about the same as the other 3 HGST drives.

We need a KS-X. Something for 2.99 a month.
KS-1 RBX, got 4x2tb, 9-10y old, 500/1000.
Try again in next few hours.
Nothing wrong with it
If today is not the day I'm going to be very disappointed.
A quick experience. My KS Mystery has got two unexpected reboot that I ignored. Config: E-2288G, 2x1920 GB NVMe.
At third time my server was not respond. The monitoring system detected the issue and OVH informed me about the replacement. They did it in a hour. Replaced the electric unit and the mobo. Works well, config as previous, everything is fine.
Motherboard in my KS-LE-B died, too. Official explanation: "electric connector", whatever that is.
About 2h downtime, can't complain too much.
Very great that they got even those older specs still in stock so they could be replaced quickly. Unfortunately i didn't have that luck. I had to wait few days for hardware replacement since my board was also fried.
I still got some mystery freezes (on mystery).
The server stops responding.. No ping, no IPMI, nothing.
Sometimes a hard reboot via the OVH panel works; sometimes it says "OVH interacts with your server," and they reboot via the power button. IDK.
I have around 4-5 incidents, and in the tickets it says, "hey, we see that all is fine, please do some tests (cpu, memtool, disk)." And tests are passed without errors.
So my tactic is to wait until the motherboard dies completely.
