don't tempt me with STOR lotto. would try WAR anyway and i never heard of any lotto there. they don't make mistakes like the frenchies.

    Just got a ks-stor with 10G in/out, wow...

    which location?

    RBX

  • It could make sense for people who are planning to use the API for the first time this coming sale via a script they didn't write, to do a dry run with an already available server, for instance the KS-STOR. No need to actually pay, a good tool should give you the possibility to create an order and not pay for it (aka getting an invoice).

For example @loay 's great tool still requires you to get API credentials, including the consumer key, which is easy but you don't want to come to that realisation when the sales start, and then bitch about it here.

A greater idea might be to do the entire process once manually from OVH's API interface, using @adns 's guide for instance. That will teach you what every script does behind the hood.

That's it, I said it, now please don't come crying when the sale starts and it does not work for some reason!

Thanks for the mention. To help new users to understand easier the API I added instructions to KS-Stor in the description.

OVH Lords please add some stock for the KS-2 with 4x 4TB instead of 4x 2TB and that sweet 10/10Gbps link.

KS-2 available in Warsaw right now. I'm looking for one in France though.

He wants to win the lottery, see post above, esp. 10G egress link for like $21.

  • For the extra few Pounds/Euros, just get the KS Stor.

Want to win the 4x 4TB lottery. It's 6 euros cheaper than the KS-Stor though...

Also, the CPU on the KS-2 is a little bit better, especially for Plex.

They do appear from time to time. I grabbed one in GRA a couple of days ago.

  • But most of them are just the 64GB variant. 32GB is more tempting.

  • SaragoldfarbSaragoldfarb Member, Megathread Squad

    There's a ks1 in Poland available fwiw.

Maybe ordered before KS line got upgraded from 300 to 500.

I still have KS ones with 300 as well.

  • Is the API faster than the website?
Does it show the free upgrades?

I’ve ordered a KS Stor and was surprised that it has 10 gig down. Perfect as PBS.

  • Talk about past years lottery! :D

What was the average available and the best lotteries in the past year deals and which location?

    • LE-A: RBx: upgraded CPU e3-1245 v2, upgraded RAM 32 GB, upgraded network IPv6 1/1 Gbps
    • LE-B: GRA Upgraded NVMe 1200, 1290 GB, upgraded RAM 64 GB, upgraded CPU 1270 v6 and downgraded 1230 v6

What about others? Are there any upgrades LE-B NVMe in FRA except e3-1245 v6?

LE-B's drive was 1920 instead of 1290, also the default was 1245 v5 instead of 1245 v6, so I consider 1230 v6 an upgrade as well at least on the CPU side, but if you somewhat need a GPU, you could say both 1230 v6 and 1270 v6 are a downgrade, and the only real upgrade would be 1245 v6 which I remember was pretty rare.

1245v6 was systematic in FRA I think.

  • Any difference in upgrade probability between locations?
The closer to the baguette center the more upgrades?
