Path.net review as of October 2025.
Hey everyone,
I just found out that my VPS provider uses Path.net for DDoS protection at the network level https://www.serverpoint.com/en/blog/ddos-protection-windows-linux-vps-hosting-and-dedicated-servers/. I’m curious if anyone here has experience with Path.net .
How’s their protection and performance in real-world use? Does it cause any latency or packet loss during large-scale attacks? Would love to hear your feedback before I fully commit to using them. Thankyou

I'd call them a ghost skeleton and would ask providers if they have any BC plans if they plop into the grave.
E.g. by the routes I recently checked in the US they seem to have PoPs in LAX,SLC,MIA and ORD (and maybe DAL and SJC) but I do not see any anymore in e.g. ASH or NYC. So one of the mayor hub regions is already missing.
And it's mostly single homed GTT, esp. in the US, with some RETN mixed in in Europe.
Feels like bs post… Name the provider.
Also cannot say anything about their DDoS protection capabilities nowadays but e.g. in US-East I'm already unconvinced with the latency for normal traffic as everything goes via ORD afaik.
I feel like they're talking about https://lowendtalk.com/discussion/210511/strange-firewall-behavior-on-new-vps-cant-ssh-ping-depending-on-source-ip#latest (@Rakane_SC ).

I would not focus on one provider with this problem as there are many: https://bgp.tools/as/396998#downstreams who would need a BC plan (esp. for DDoS protection) if path cannot recover from the current mess. It was a great network like two or three years ago now everything went downhill.

Kind reguards
I can say they was amazing even under DDos for @serverpoint
We do use Path.net for our DDoS protection and we are watching their situation closely. We are already in talks with some other alternatives.
We test them often though and their system is working as expected. We only enable Path.net, for a specific subnet, when our systems detect a DDoS attack to said subnet. So, Path.net is not "always on" at our network, as we do not wish to rely on a single path.
You won't notice most of Path's issues if you do on-demand mitigation so that helps a ton I imagine
