Who hosts and maintains demo for: https://lowendtalk.com/discussion/210290/free-domain-monitor-self-hosted-domain-expiration-tracking-system-php-8-1#latest gets free VPS

I can give it a try. Btw, thank you for the Bucharest node!
Thanks @Hosteroid! Thanks @shayneeo!
I also want to try Hosteroid's domain expiration tracking system. I just haven't got there yet!
I will deploy domain expiration system project after the move to Promox base happened. Is it okay for you @Hosteroid ?
I am happy to do a 'double' install i.e. both servers together. However we need to give notice to allow London users to backup. Also I am away on vacation and will be back to 'play' on the 23rd of October.
Assuming I can get control panel access to both servers - @Not_Oles could you formally ask onlyservers and @Hosteroid to switch me over as account holder for both servers please.
I will say the official day for Proxmox installs will be Thursday 23rd of October. Expect significant downtime (hopefully I won't be too slow - but expect slow).
Also for privacy / confidentiality could the London users send me a PM stating their current VM details i.e. IP address or NAT and also their public keys. I know that privacy is important for some users however we are trusting you to not do anything wrong so I would also like an email address included.
This means we can send you direct communication about the server configs without the hassle of DMs on different forums etc (it gets very confusing). I promise your details will only be used for this purpose.
@shayneeo I will be in contact once servers are built however please feel free to provide whatever support is needed here - thank you.
Will do! I assume you want the accounts to be under your email that we have been using. If that assumption is incorrect, please let me know. Thanks!
Yep - I have registered with both providers using that email.
Thanks Tom.
@msatt @everyone
Here is a link to my post on Nodeseek where I try to summarize what is going on here in this thread.

Onlyservers Ticket #335-641-6515 Please change account ownership
Maybe Hosteroid already changed the account ownership? I can't seem to log in at https://www.hosteroid.uk/login. @Hosteroid
@msatt When you have time, we can transfer the Alexhost account, the Chisinau server, and also the FOSSVPS.org domain.
I don't think we need to do anything with Los Angeles. That server donation will expire in a few weeks.
We can talk with EveryoneBandwidth about transferring the 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsorship.
I will send you the remaining account balance financial contributions.
Thanks again!
What is going on @Not_Oles you are going out same like with MetalVPS/FreeVPS?
@Hosteroid
I started FreeVPS.org. The really nice guys on the team there wanted to use excellent, but less than 100% open source software (Blesta) and excellent, but closed source software (Virtfusion). Eric from crunchbits was kindly willing to take over FreeVPS.
I also started FOSSVPS.org. For FOSSVPS I was using a very simple VPS setup (details posted earlier in this thread[1]), but almost everyone else thinks that Proxmox would be better. @msatt has a lot of Proxmox experience and was kindly willing to take over FOSSVPS, install Proxmox on the servers, and go forward.
As reflected in prior discussion in this thread, Proxmox is our community's choice for the best FOSSVPS experience, so I want our community project to have someone in charge like @msatt with extensive Proxmox experience.
MetalVPS is just me. Not so many people seem interested in a community shared server approach in 2025. And that's okay. Progress is important!
Thanks to Hosteroid for your kind server donations!

Edit to add: FreeVPS is still going strong!
I hope FOSSVPS also will continue to thrive!
What's the next iteration going to be called?
Of Course!
FWIW, I just logged in successfully at Hosteroid!
@msatt Hosteroid Ticket #955975 - Change server ownership, please
So you are really going out on the role. Can not even take it. Hope you still in the head role of FOSSSVPS.
So happy to hear that! I can't wait any more.
Btw, I may help with Proxmox since I am also the manager of our school club ,using PVE
London works perfectly for me. Thanks a lot!
more than 6 years ago i installed proxmox on a server for some colleagues. that’s my last experience with pve, and i am not a specialist on linux virtualization. so i know i can’t take the responsibility to take over the maintenance work.
Thank you, I will be in touch once the servers are rebuilt. Both you and @shayneeo can decide the areas you are happy to help with.
There will still be a need to maintain the fossvps website, support, adding / deleting VMs and likely more as we 'grow'. So your help would be appreciated. I will create a DM group (on here) and add you @pixia1234 @shayneeo and me so we can discuss and not overload the public thread.
Thanks
Mike
"What can be public should be public." - Not Tom -.
But I agree to the idea of that group creation. There is a time we must discuss about management and it can not be here.
But we should public the process of the management? How we will control them? And who is in what role?
That's my idea. Feel free to correct me
.
Thank you for willing to support the community Mike.
Best regards,
Thanh Pham
@shayneeo As you can see in the DM thread I specifically said
that is Tom's and my philosophy. However the thread contains personal information (so we get to know each other) and should not be made public hence the DM thread.
Appreciate you posted before thread creation.
Hi everyone. Been a while since I last checked this thread. Any TLDR?
page 8 and 9
Hello, everyone. I will respond to everyone who mentioned us in the thread.
I would like to thank everyone for your mentions and feedback! We appreciate it and will continue to support the project whenever we see that there is interest and that development is ongoing and active.
A big thank you to @Not_Oles for taking this initiative, it is good for all parties involved and for those who are entering the world of Linux and related fields!
Our company supports these types of projects whenever they contribute to the community, learning, and use for good purposes.
Of course, if you liked our service in the Republic of Moldova, you can also use other services we have available; the door is always open.
We appreciate it and will try to do our best, although this is not always possible. We strive to maintain consistency, coherence and transparency. We are making an effort and want to continue! We hope that everything will continue to go well over the coming months and that we will receive feedback. We also read all feedback regarding our servers, support and network. Therefore, your opinion is also read by us!
Thank you to everyone who liked our servers or tried them out. You know where to find us!
Once again, a huge thank you @Not_Oles to (without whom this would not be possible).
All the best! We hope to continue to see this project grow.
Alexhost
@alexhost your comments and donation are genuinely appreciated by us. There are a team of us currently making lots of decisions and our plan is not to change what FOSSVPS is all about. A Free server to benefit Open Source development and and aid the community.
Once again - thank you
@Everyone @msatt @alexhost @Hosteroid @dan_onlyservers @fmxm @igctt @shayneeo @pixia1234
October 17, 2025 Update
Thanks to Alexhost, Onlyservers, Hosteroid, and @fmxm for greatly appreciated server donations!
The FOSSVPS.org domain has been pushed to @msatt. The Onlyservers and Hosteroid accounts have been transferred to @msatt. The Alexhost account will be transferred; please see further information below.
The existing balance of financial contributions has been applied to extending the registration term of the FOSSVPS.org domain until July 23, 2031.
@msatt has taken over leadership of FOSSVPS. @igctt, @shayneeo, and @pixia1234 have joined the FOSSVPS Team. I'm still here, but unofficially, and only as a friend.
The Team's plan, if I understand correctly, is to install Proxmox and to administer the VPSes with Proxmox going forward. The first install will be on Hosteroid Bucharest within the next few days. On Thursday, October 23, Onlyservers London will be wiped and reinstalled with Proxmox, and the existing VPSes recreated.
There is not yet a date set to change the Alexhost Chisinau server. For a short time I will continue to administer Alexhost Chisinau. But, soon, Chisinau also is expected to be wiped, transitioned to Proxmox, and the FOSSVPS Team will take over administration.
There is no present plan to change anything on @fmxm Los Angeles, because this server's final expiration is coming up on November 10.
I am beyond delighted to see our community's enthusiasm for Proxmox, and for the substantial effort being invested by @msatt and the Members of the FOSSVPS Team. I am especially happy to see Hosteroid and Alexhost posting here in the FOSSVPS thread. To me, it's lovely when everyone is here together! Hooray for FOSSVPS!

@Not_Oles, I'd like to apply a free VPS (Debian 13, 4 E5-2680 v2 vCores, 4 GB ECC RAM, 100GB Disk RAID 10, 1Gbps, No IPv4, One IPv6/128) for my Vaultwarden and Casdoor.
My SSH Keys Here: https://github.com/ffha.keys
My GitHub: https://github.com/ffha
Looked at his github, I think it is okay. But he joined here in September. Pretty new here. What do you think @Not_Oles.
@Everyone @fthasdd
Due to the exciting developments reported at https://lowendtalk.com/discussion/comment/4539828/#Comment_4539828 the time has come for me to stop accepting new requests.
Due to the high activity of the new FOSSVPS Team, I am confident that they will begin accepting new requests before long.
I will try to continue administering the Chisinau server briefly, hopefully until it is that server's turn to be reinstalled with Proxmox.
Thanks to everyone here at LET for all the learning and all the fun we have enjoyed getting FOSSVPS started!
