Any dedicated server provider allowing to connect a LTE USB dongle?

Is there any provider that will allow to connect an USB dongle to a dedicated server (of course the equipment is mailed by the end user who covers all associated costs)? Maybe someone done this?
If that is not possible, maybe you know a cheap (yeah it is low-end-talk right) colo that might house a LTE-capable device like a router, or server with USB modem

I have allowed some clients to mail in USB-Devices (Such as Fido Keys) to be attached to dedicated hardware in the past.

However i would not fulfill requests for USB-Devices that have Mobile-Network Hardware( LTE/GSM). There are a few reasons for this. The list below is just examples, and by no means complete.

    1) Some Datacenter Contracts prohibit this (contractual).
    2) Racks (Made out of Metal) do impact Cellular Reception quite a lot, when the rack is closed. So the user experience would not be optimal.
    3) Risk Management reasons ( ie: https://www.wired.com/story/sim-farm-new-york-threatened-us-infrastructure-feds-say/ )

The same holds true for "lte routers" for the most part.

I'm happy to help with OOB-Connections (Differnet Fiber/Traffic Paths), crossconnects in the datacenters to other network providers or VLAN's between MyRootPW locations where required (These "upgrades" come with some extra cost however).

If I were offering dedicated servers, I wouldn't allow mail-in USB keys, period.

After all, who knows if it's not a USB killer device designed to destroy a host's servers, just shaped like a YubiKey?

Possible, but then again, those clients are also ones i have had long-term dealings with. Its a case by case evaluation anyway.

Edit: There is also the option that i order the keys the client needs and just plug them into the servers. then ship them to the client when the service is cancelled/expires.

    Tax for setup.
You can test the usb device on some old hardware. You find pc for 10-15$ or less

And for usb modem i dont see any extra risk.
You already give full root and internet connection.
    What extra risk exists

Strange consideration as the device is most likely shipped directly from the seller, brand new. Indeed though, plugging some unknown device might come as risky.

We are able to do this in any of our locations, happy to discuss if you want to dm me in terms of what you are looking for.

We will just typically charge a small RH fee to both install & remove if necessary.

  • .. some DCs will charge you for antenna cabling & space on the roof...internal gsm coverage is usually quite bad..
