2026 cPanel Price Increase

Happy Tuesday, everyone!
Enjoy the annual cPanel price increase - I've received my email a few moments ago.

It is already a tradition.
chargeback yesterday and move to direct admin already!
I would love to see how long they can stretch this for before going under.
They can keep this up for many years, there’s really nothing stopping them. The majority of large corporations are still obligated to them, frequently under long-term agreements, and WebPros currently controls a significant portion of the market.
It’s similar to what happened with the VMware acquisition: everyone expected companies to leave, but only a few actually did. The rest either went under because of their contracts or simply absorbed the higher costs.
Happy Tuesday @AlexBarakov
I received one about Plesk too
Now just waiting for WHMCS to announce their annual price increase.
Imagine continuing to pay cPanel instead of just switching to DirectAdmin at this point.
Even if you lose a dozen clients who can't get used to DirectAdmin, you'll likely still come out ahead on reduced licensing costs.
PERFECT !! This means we will soon have some crazy / refugee / great / unsustainable offers for DirectAdmin Hosting.
Crazy Black Friday is coming.
Next move: DirectAdmin pricing increase to sustain development.
Don't give them ideas 😅
Didn't everyone say this years back when it first happened?
If anything, over the years, after the initial tantrums and people leaving, many hosts have returned to it.
DA should introduce another lifetime lic and then shit on everyone again. Its a clear money winner.
May I suggest that one of the admins hardcode the following as the title of this thread.
{$smarty.now|date_format:"%Y"} cPanel Price IncreaseLifetime stuff is not profitable and is not realistic either.
Your either go with:
However, what move I would clearly do now would be:
IMHO that'd would boost D.A. a lot.
... and a complete remake would be awesome, as to be honest - even if I like D.A., some thing are hard as f*ck to do. Especially customizations (services, processes... etc., not talking about the template).
We're using D.A. for shared hosting plans as it is kinda easier to work with for our customers, however for my personal static sites/blog I am using ISPConfig. Best decision ever. I usually dislike closed-source software: cP, DA, hostbill... etc., but I am not WebDev enough to develop my own solution.
They published a pdf with the new WHMCS yearly price increases as well. (15%+ increase)

I would be genuinely interested how much of their client base is: Business Unlimited @ $1,999.95/mo.
I get it. People like the convenience even for personal hosting.
I dont use any. I prefer none of the extras that come with it. Last time I looked DA was still doing stupid stuff with openlitespeed where you can access the webadmin but cannot change anything and their backup system still does not work so if you want one you then have to pay another vendor for a system they have built.
Sometimes I really wonder how some hosts can offer 0.7 EUR / month cPanel shared hosting with all these price increases...
Yeah, lack of distributed backup system is a big f*cking NO for DA. We had to develop our own backup system for that...
nulled
From what I know about web hosting in my country, this is very much true. They just pass the cost to the clients though.
On VMware, my experiences are different. I've got solid news around me that more and more companies are ditching VMware for good. The place I work for will also ditch VMware (slowly until 2027 that is when the agreement finally expires).
Yeah...and this anchors the budget hosting options with cPanel at a price that's unsustainable... Budget-sensitive Customers compare between hosts and won't really pay the "big" premium for non-nulled licenses (i.e. more than double the price).
That is because - if you allow me to be a little bit harsh - a lot of so called hosting providers would do anything, just to add +1 client to portfolio.
Back in my days, you wouldn't find any reasonable hosting provider under $5/mo for a hosting plan with 5GB space and 100GB traffic.
Now, we bargain with customers over that $0.5 in pricing.
We actually lowered some cPanel prices in '24, and then ate the increase in '25. Definitely gonna have to hike them a bit for next year.
how much are pricing increasing?
I'm okay with paying more for better software, as someone with just a singular cPanel account with a singular host, it's maximum a few dollars per year, I like the experience better
found the guy doing the surveys!
@Francisco, pretend you don't see this PDF.
He will pretend is pretending.
